In the DVD commentary on First Blood, it is stated that the teeth on the back of the blade are for cutting your way through aluminium fuselage, if trapped within a crashed plane.

these teeth look so square and weirdly shaped that it's not clear for me how they work at all... Unless they are sharpened, in the video they don't look sharpened, but dull

@Sports and Gadgets sorry but your a clown. its funny , i have a 440C one made by Jimmy himself i bought two years before he pass away and never encountered any difficulty to cut 3-4 inches of wood branchs with it to baton for my firecamp. NEVER try to make anything with a cheap crappy chinese counterfeit (despite what its written on THEIR boxes) copy made of 420J or 7Cr13Mov Steel. Your a shame to the knives community. Really? You're using a cheap copy! An actual Lile would cut it easy. And Neeley at Timberline used to go through a tableful of 2×4s at the BLADE shows with their sawback.. I saw him do it about '84. Put a straight edge (like a ruler) on the back of your's, and you'll see your's doesn't even have pointed teeth. Might want to do at least SOME research before you post a video.

What makes a difference if it's a replica or not? Either way this copy is made of metal. I've seen other videos where the exact same way these teeth couldn't saw through a thin branch. Shouldn't the principle of the serrator work the same way?
@Skyfall-sv8df

This is the first video of yours I've ever seen. No offense, but are all your videos so poorly researched? You do realize that the actual First Blood knife was a custom? So no, a cheap knock-off made to hang on the wall crafted out of inferior steal and poorly angled saw teeth isnt going to perform well. When you do a review on an Esee knife, do you go on amazon and buy a five dollar similar copy and test it in place of the esee 5? Buy the real deal made by Wilson, Lile, Wood, Neeley, Sanders Martin, etc, and try one of them out. They've all PROVEN them to be extremely strong and durable. And also obviously a thick blade will never saw through a tree faster than a thin saw blade. However, the knife was never designed for that. It's made for notching. There are youtube videos prove the strength of hollow handle knives, but you were to lazy to do watch them. And instead, you decided to judge an entire class of knives by a cheap knock off made to hang on a wall. Listening and watching you it is clear you're nothing but a salesman. What a joke...🤦

Actually the knife was designed by Stallone himself, he needed a strong visual in the movie, in David Morrell's novel “First Blood” the knife does not appear at all, I have read and watched a lot on this subject, although I have not personally used the original knife. What I see is the knife shown in the Hollywood movie has very little in common with real knives in terms of real practical use.
@Skyfall-sv8df

@billywild3394 the knife saw teeth were never intended to saw through a tree, branch, etc. Looking at them makes that abundantly clear. Have you ever seen an actual saw blade? It is around an 1/8" thick or less. The teeth on the actual Lile Rambo knife (and even most knockoffs) is about a 1/4" thick. Huge difference! The knife teeth were designed for making notches, etc, which they do very well at. But idiots like this channel who don't do any research, go buy the cheapest dimestore version of a knife that was a high-end, borderline custom knife. Then test the poorly made copy doing something it wasn't even designed for and complain about the real knife. The guy on this channel is nothing but a salesman. The only thing I'd take his advice on is the location of the nearest buffet.

@@Dan-Commando The reviewer demonstrated that the serrations on this knife don't even cut through rope, so what exactly are you talking about? You claim to own an original Jimmy knife-what did that set you back, a grand? Those are notoriously expensive, aren't they? Meanwhile, it was clearly stated here that we're talking about a $130 replica. And MOST IMPORTANTLY - even if it's a "cheap crappy chinese counterfeit" made of inferior steel, how does that detract from the functionality of the serrations? If I take even a basic plastic serrated knife worth five cents, it WILL CUT because that's how serrations work. If the serrations on the Rambo knife are indeed functional, why didn't they cut anything in the video? The author provided a logical and constructive explanation, unlike you. It seems you're just another one of those "armchair critics" who don't understand what they're talking about and just want to boast about owning an original piece, or you prioritize the prestige of the material and brand over the principle of the tool's design.

If you’re trying the cheap wall hanger copy of course it’s trash. It’s meant to be kept as a collectible item. Now if you go with the sights of the real deal Greg Wall makes incredible FB knives 440c movie accurate very thick made to be used in the woods. The hollow tank will not break the way he has constructed them. I love mine paid $550 and it’s a LEGIT FB KNIFE THAT CAN BE USED. Would love the original LILE made knives but 2k-2,500 is a bit much.

If you want to truly test a rambo style knife, I'd suggest you actually get a Lile or a Martin version. I guarantee you, they'd pass your tests. These 150 dollar Amazon knives are toys, not designed for actual use, but as show pieces. The Liles and Martin knives actually work and have been tested, passing all tests. You test junk, you're gonna get junk results.
