4:12 cinema 4d is so random at times - why would it just break like that?

Because the soft body tag is applied to the cube, which consists of orthogonal-arranged polygons (at 90 degree angles) that don't have any structure to them. Adding a subdivision makes the mesh more detailed and, more importantly, much more structurally solid. This gives the physics engine a lot more to work with. A similar analogy would be your leg (linear, very simple) compared to your rib cage (3 dimensional, complex network of elements holding each other together).

Thanks Lucas great tutorials. I have a question about this one. Whatever i try i cant get a texture to stick and the texure moves all over the place. Any ideas? I tried the Pin material tag, tried triplaner mapping. (using C4DtoA) PS this looks fine in viewport and IPR until the final render!

Hey Lukas! I am running into a problem when I try to render the scene... the camera moves, along with the environment, but the blob stays stationary without any animation...? any idea why this is, or how to set up the dynamics for render? Thanks!

Maybe try to cache the softbody tag or if that doesn't work then make the wind stronger
