thanks m8 there is some eq but only in the low end and 10khz, since the mics drop off below 150 hz. massively. and there is a huge peak in 10Khz of the mics

thanks, well they do not sound bad. i mean i can enjoiy them but they do mis some things it the upper end. could be better :) but as i said its enjoyable :) not great. its relative i guess. i enjoyed my SMGA's for instance for a long time also my SMG C as well as my tymphani 1D. next to them i also enjoyed Audiostatics electrostatics and ESL 63's must say the 63 might have been the best of the bunch but with his own limitations and ... problems :) that comes with a price tag to fix :)

Joppe I recommend you to get a pair of LII Audio W-15's subs (very pricey) in an open baffle and NO crossovers as I do in my own hand made and totally tweaked system . You will be dropping your draws ALL over the house.............. 🙂
@joppepeelen
Жыл бұрын
hmm well no offence but LII audio has a tendency to not measure there speakers , if you look at the diamond versions etc (typical 10 db scale etc looking much better then they actually are etc, no decent TS parameters ). so i do not hold high hopes. Besides that, for those amounts of money i could make a planar doing the same frequency :( still thank you for the idea !!!

@@joppepeelen Congratulation if you can make a planar reaching down to below 26 Hz. that is amazing. I enhanced my pair, and took off their magnet protection cap and getting that. So just asking why don't you make one, since the sub you use is a standard type box? Like your tries throughout the years I watched your endeavor on and off working on full range panels. Keep the good vibessssssss 🙂

@@obudaifourty9 a lii audio won’t hit 26hz either in open baffle. To reach 20hz without baffle you need way bigger and way more woofers. A waste of time and money as it will need to be very big and is insanely inefficient

For scrap they sound very nice:) For the "new" d'appolito you chose horizontal traces/coils, probably obvious to some but why ?
@joppepeelen
Жыл бұрын
it has only to do with space :) (and wavelengths + smoothness of the tweeter) since all the traces create a huge amount of traces needed at the bottom where the connections are. so by using them horizontal. its not in the way of being as close to the tweeter as possible. it just adds in the with instead of the height. so all drivers are horizontal in that design to get the mid ranges as close to the tweeter. witch makes the vertical dispersoin as good as it can be with this setup.. could be better if they where infinite small. witch is not the case :) one side note is that the tweeter in the DAP, is not using metal since it creates a reflection. so its held by the frame that holds the mylar and has no metal. this way the frequency responce is much smoother. for the midragne it does not matter since it will not play up to 16Khz

Was verstehen Sie unter Unterbau? Ich habe einige Ideen, wie das Ganze gemacht werden kann. Vielleicht können wir per E-Mail kommunizieren.

again its not a complete system :( i could fix the panels up and maybe sell them but you still need to make the crossover and use a subwoofer or like i did some woofers. (if you got a minidsp 6-8 channel (and amplfiers that are needed) that would make things much easier though) one thing im afraid of Thomas is the length of these panels UPS and other shipping companies have a very high price on long items :( i see if i can make one of my speakers passive so you only need to build a frame for it and use a sub for the low end ? since you want a pair for such a long time. but they cant be to huge shipping costs as we looked at before is insane high. so cant promise anything :( i am sorry

Probably better than scrapping them... The work done to make them is worth much more than the metal and the result is impressiv
@joppepeelen
Жыл бұрын
@@jean-lucbattista2492 well maybe, but i use a minidsp to make it work (at this moment). to invest huge amounts on passive components to make it work.. im not to sure about. they can only be used as midrange with a tweeter that does not extend as high as i would like them to do... but if someone is ok with that... i could sell them as is. but price on shipping might be 2 the price im asking for the panels. oh lets not forget the woofers are minus 6 db .... so these are very inefficient. when someone is not going active this might be a huge problem to make it work :(

One can DIY a "miniDSP" relatively easily (It's just two ADAU1701, one slave, one master). One such devboard in the US goes for 20$. I've even done 12Channels DSP with 1 master and 2 slaves. It works great!

Hi! Thanks for the great videos. I was looking for rubber magnets but i couldn't find anything reasonable. Any hints? Would you recommending getting a solid sheet and cut holes with a waterjet just between the magnets ?
@joppepeelen
Жыл бұрын
well getting the correct rubber magnet is indeed a huge problem. i sell them though. but i had to look for them for years :( still its only one size fits all, or none .... 3mm thick 8.5mm wide in rolls of 50 meters. price 100 euro a piece. about the steel here i used 8..5mm magnets on R3T5 perf panels and it works. i was making push pull versions and then lining things up is more critical. so i shaved them down to sit in between holes of the perforation sort off. also to align them with the other sides of the magnet motor. cutting so many holes with a water jet is to much io think and they are to small as well. laser could be an option but expensive. these plates (if not using the re gular perf plates) should be punched... like maggy does. or order. having 7mm of solid steel and then a row of holes the diameter of what you want the gap to be. side note to have enought high frequencies, rubber magnet should not be used for the tweeter. if so you need slightly thicker (so its closer to the wires/foil) and or stronger magnet or you will not be able to balance it correctly. even one row of neo's should solve that issue though. but still.. there are nicer options when using neo's to create a tweeter. that has a flater response if you get rid of that metal behind it

@@joppepeelen I'm fortunate enough to have access to free waterjet and fiber lasers so I'll try the laser first thanks for the recommendation. I don't really feel like making dies to punch holes. It sounds like too much work for a one off thing.
