An easy Bengaluru weekend getaway or even a day trip would be to the Karnataka's largest bird sanctuary - Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary. Just couple of hours from Bangalore, and half hour drive from Mysore, lies Ranganathittu Bird sanctuary in Srirangapatna. Deriving its name from Sri Ranganatha Swamy of Srirangapatna and the river islets (thittu), Ranganathittu is known for its annual congregation of Migratory birds that flock the sanctuary.
From pelicans, painted storks to spoonbills and river terns, the bird sanctuary is filled with all kinds of exotic birds, be it water or land birds. Mugger Crocodiles make a special appearance too amidst these aquaitc birds. There is a well maintained boat safari that takes you around the Ranganathittu bird sanctuary. There is also a well maintained park which has many common birds like drongo, grey hornbill, tickle fly blue catcher and so on.
The entry ticket for park and boat safari ticket are different. Best time to visit Ranganathittu and more on the video. Please watch, like, share and subscribe to @MasalaBoxTravel
