I use a Pelsee in my Jeep with the rear camera inside above the rear tire. It is so helpful and i highly recommend. I have had mine for a year without issue.

Where did you drill through the fire wall at and run the wire I’m trying to do this right now and I’m not a car guy lol

There is already a grommet that goes thru the firewall on the driver side that I used. There is even a little rubber nub you can cut off to run the wires thru. That is what I did.

Interestingly, I just bought a 2-Chanel dash cam yesterday and a UHF pack. Always handy to borrow some of your good ideas. Currently thinking of buying a set of sump guard from pirate camp. Didn’t see you installed any aftermarket ones, or if it’s on your to do list?

that's awesome. I will have to look into sump guards. What radio did you end up going with? i've been looking for one but cant decide on what to get.

The Uniden Xtrak 80 offroad pack. Bought with end of financial year discount. Was considering GME as well . They are both good but GME is a bit more expensive

Where did you mount your camera at under the truck?
@flaberdoopin

There is a frame rail that runes across side to side directly behind the transmission, that’s what I mounted it on with some super 3m Velcro that I use in my windshield to hold my toll transmitter in the dash and handles the heat well. Had it there for about a month now with no issues.

Which camera sensor does it use?
@flaberdoopin
3 ай бұрын
It is a chinese product and the box and listing online doesn't specify the sensor specifications. I'm guessing it is very similar to chinese cell phone camera sensors. it isn't going to replace an iphone or samsung camera on a new phone but it is better than a lot of the surveillance camera i have seen. the whole kit was only like $250 so it is at that level

@@flaberdoopin Sony Starvis2 sensor is the current golden standard for dash cams. It makes a big difference in the ability to read the license plate specially at night.

I have a Sony mirrorless and their sensors are amazing but I didn’t want to spend big money on a dash cam just yet. If I put this one in my wife’s van I will maybe get a really high end one for my truck

Have you looked into directly mounting the Pelsee instead of strapping it on the other mirror? Not sure if it's possible with the Ranger's mirror, but it would make the Pelsee look more OEM. I found a video about it, if interested: kzitem.info/news/bejne/taqgwGuofJGflo4si=ZmORPwAU3KZadG9b

I’ll check that out but the stock mirror has sensors in it and is plugged into the wiring harness. Not sure if unplugging it is an option without getting error messages
