With only one PP I am assuming Ranger says this does not void any warranty? If using only one does it keep the boat in postion without moving in wind? If you have two does it void the warranty of the hull? I have a 178 and want to add two PP but not sure

I know $ is an issue for you. If it was me, I would stay with one brand of electronics. That way you can network the units.

Great video. I also will be in the market soon for this boat and was hoping you would give me power pole details. How many feet from ground to top "garage measurement" and when sitting in water from water to top of powerpole "low bridge" I need to fit under... These 2 measurements would greatly help me!!
@BassNvlog

pgm1970 hey sir you don’t have to worry about those because you can lower the power pole down to get it into the garage and under bridges. I can make a video of what I mean.

I have the same boat a 2015 and it came with the spare tire and ratchets at the back and was already on a 24 volt system but the issues I’ve had with mine in the 3 years I’ve had it is the charger for the batteries never lasts more then a year but other then that it’s a good boat no real issue I would love to get two power poles cause I find on a windy day it’s hard to stay on point when your fishing but I’m not sure how that would affect the boat cause it doesn’t have a big weight capacity and it’s already hard to get on plain starting in not deep water

run an RT178 purchased June 2013. structurally absolutely no issues. paint hasn't worn great on the gunwales. spent 23K for front/console Lowrance HDS genII 7's. side imaging on transom. 75hp Merc Optimax. wheel upgrades, Minnkota Foretrex (80). has been a great boat. wish I'd gone to the 188, just for a little more top end and that center rod box. how/where I fish that would have been a little better fit personally . my boat gets out on big water, rivers probably about 70 times/year (each weekend, plus vacations). I've used it hard and put it away 'wet' a lot. couple more key pieces for me: blown in floatation and never ever overlook the 'NO WOOD' construction.

In my big front storage area I kept my PFDs, rainsuit and unit covers. Try to keep it light so I can get more bow lift.

Looks like you have an explorer sport. How is that car pulling the boat? Wonder since I have the same car and thinking about getting same boat.

Hey brother, if you have an explorer sport I’d say you could pull 3 of these boats at once. You shouldn’t have any problem at all. I can barely feel it behind me.

Thanks for the quick response...I got the last question figured out. I also have a small garage it looks like the power pole sticks out farther than the motor? Hard to tell from your video
@BassNvlog
5 жыл бұрын
If you send me your email I’ll send you a picture from the side. Also, the RT series has break away tongues so that you can fit them in small garages. You can also shift the boat diagonally if needed. When I had a 20 footer I would trim my motor down to level with the surface instead of keeping it in the tow position. These are all tricks in the bassboat owners world.

Nice review.. Question - You tow with a Ford Explorer.. or smaller SUV? What is the tow capacity on it and is it 4WD?
@BassNvlog
5 жыл бұрын
The tow capacity on the Ford Explorer Sport is a little over 5K. The motor can easily pull 10K it’s set at 5 for suspension limits. It is an AWD, they make 4WD though.

duckdog10 oh yeah I was referring to fishing off shore structure on lakes and river. I am from Florida and used to push an aluminum bass boat to fish intercostal waters as well. Just not this boat. However, Ranger has the RB190 which is an aluminum series inter coastal that is really nice. One would run about 28-31k depending on how it was dressed.

They know what Fisherman generally want on lower end models and they leave them off and option them out. On higher end models, they come standard and reflective in the price. Either way, the buyer will pay.

No spare tire included with purchase? I agree, should be a standard. Seems like a way to upcharge. Do you have lights in the rod / storage lockers? Also, backup lights on the trailer. If not, do it! I only have one regret for these two upgrades, which is, I didn't do it sooner ! !

fishing is my drug while heartedly agreed. I haven’t thought about back up lights yet but I will forsure. Any recommendations or just waterproof white LEDs?
@fishingismydrug1
5 жыл бұрын
I picked some up from Walmart, house brand. 6 LEDs on each light. $20 each. You can probably find them cheaper online. I bought these as they fit great for where I mounted them. I added a 4 led cube to the back of my truck, tied into the reverse lights. A cube was a better fit for that application. O'Reilly's, house brand.
