What's your favorite Megadeth album? Let me know down below! 2:45: EDIT - Dave Ellefson did not leave the band prior to The World Needs A Hero (thanks to AndDeathForAll82 for pointing that out!)

For me it has to be Symphony Of Destruction at #1 for just the culmination of riffs/lyrical content/production value/consistency . This was also my introduction to Megadeth so Im probably biased. The other albums for me have a few outstanding songs but have some filler. SOD has a consistent quality from start to finish. One of my desert island discs for sure.

So Far, So Good, So What! is easily my #1. They have so much energy on that album and it’s super heavy. Rust In Peace is good, but I thought they lost their Thrash energy with that one

One of my favourites, listening to 'Deth since late 1990. I read an interesting piece recently that pointed out Mustaine has put out a true classic in four different decades now - besides the obvious classic standouts in 80s and early 90s, UA and Endgame from 2000s are truly great and Dystopia 2016 a stellar release. Quite a feat really. Great ranking my good man. Good to see some love for Th1rt3en; like yourself I rank that one almost as high as Endgame also. That run 2004-2011 is what really brought me back to metal after a decade or so away. An amazing discography.

Super Collider Very hard to rank their discography! They've been really consistent. Even some of the bottom albums have a song or two that hits very hard. I included their covers album, even though not all of them are covers. Some of the songs were used for soundtracks. Dave Mustaine is one of the best thrash metal guitarists. The 90s lineup is the best lineup they ever had.

I've seen megadeth live 2wice both times in the front row. The 1st show was at a bar in ft Wayne Indiana Nov 6th 2004 the second show was may 3rd 2012 at the hard rock casino in Biloxi Mississippi. Anyway I've been a fan for 30 years and I'm only 39. I know the history of the band by heart I've read 2 of the books associated with band members and still own 50 megadeth releases I've been collecting since 97. It took years to find some of my deth albums in the wild. I found a copy of capital punishment for 2 bucks at a goodwill. Like I said it took some work to find all of the various releases but it's a complete collection. Even have hidden treasures and md.45 remastered versions. Warchest all of the 04 remastered albums all of the original capital releases all of the combat records arsenal of megadeth the list goes on. The only release I can think of that I do not own is anthology set the world afire which is a double album that only had maybe 3 songs that weren't already released. Did u know that there were 2 versions of united abominations that feature led zeppelin covers and a version of cryptic writings that has only the instrumentals with zero lyrics? The warchest booklet has all of the releases from 84-08 so u can see all the various releases through the years.

Same; Risk has grown and I enjoy it a lot. It's no Rust, Countdown, Endgame or Killing, but it is worthy of the name and includes a good number of compelling tracks. Not as high as Th1rt3en but much better than Super Collider and even World Needs a Hero (my least favoured 'Deth flavour). I met the band at a record signing in Glasgow the day Collider was released, so it has that nostalgia, but it is not an album I return to much. A big step down from the four preceding albums.

One era that gets forgotten about - they were on a great little comeback run /return to form with the system has failed, united abominations, and end game. 13 dropped the ball a little (felt a bit half-baked - I think it was the last record they had to give roadrunner to fulfill a contract) and Supercollider sucked. Then he knew he had to reset with dystopia.
