The combo perks are so fun, but I do think you’re probably underrating some of the attacks that start with incredibly low cooldown since they can get pretty impactful if you load them up with a bunch of damage upgrades. Especially on something like Shadow where the lack of range is less problematic.

I am going to try and make myself take some moves I don't normally use to see if it changes my opinions. The RNG on what upgrades you get makes it a bit tricky though.

The 1 cool down 2 damage backstab is NOT a D tier tile it is a B or A tier tile and here is why. While it may not be as good as the ONLY other two other tiles that can hit behind you being Blade Swirl and Strike the Earth. That does not make it useless it can get you out of some bad situations more often than one might think. However backstabs TRUE strength lies in its low cool down making it easy for you to put Poison, Freeze, or Free Play or whatever on the tile with out making the tiles cool down much more massive. Which also makes it easy to lower the cool down back to 1 after any buffs given too it. I would put the bear trap in D instead why? All tiles have "hidden costs" too them Some are more noticeable like the guns knock back effect on you an the enemy or the fact you have to wait to reload the cross bow. Some are less so. The Bear trap has 4 "hidden costs" ALL of which make it SUCK or at the least feel bad and make it hard to use well 1. Is the turn it takes to put it into the attack queue. While one might say this is a cost ALL attack tiles come with and this is true however it feels worse for the Bear Trap because. 2. The Bear Trap under 99% circumstances WILL NOT trigger on the turn you lay it down on the field. This may not sound like a big deal at first but this means it can't kill an enemy in front of you to save you or just to do chip damage 3. An enemy HAS to walk over the trap for it to do damage. Again something that may not sound so bad at first, but from my anecdotal experience playing the game I have noticed that for the most part the enemy AI seems to be smart enough to avoid mindlessly stepping on to your traps which can backfire and put you in a bad spot. MAYBE if you are really smart maybe you can use this property of the Bear Trap for area denial and pick off other enemies with other tiles...but that might not always work because the incoming wave may spawn on your traps and ruin any smart set up you did and put you in a bad spot. Now this would be understandable if it were not for "hidden cost" 4. 4. Bear Traps will ONLY stop a dash if it is lethal damage. Again this may sound not so bad but what makes it bad is you can't save yourself from like a Shadow of the Shogun's dash and slash combo IF your trap does not have enough damage on the tile. With so much having to go right for the tile and so many hidden costs to the tile that it is not worth playing EVER! and I lose if I am forced to take it.

I get your points, from my play style I find certain moves way more or less useful for me. You should def make your own tier list based on what you think can get you the easy win.

Bear trap's really fun with grappling hook, switch toss, smoke bomb, mirror, and centre. More setup for sure, but is fun doing a run around it. Plus the cost is never wasted and you can stack multiple traps on top of each other for insane boss burst. Also set and forget to protect your back from dashers. It's not crossbow OP levels, but is a fun weap.

@@GuntherKnowsGames Your list is mostly right and I agree with it only back stab and trap should change MAYBE club should be C but other than that it is correct

@@Trebow Nah trap needs 1 of 2 changes either the ability to fire as soon as it is dropped or the ability to stop a dash if the damage is non lethal its just to hard to make work and makes you play badly otherwise. Like Hideyoshi's bomb (which I think WILL be a tile in the future) is a better weapon by far

so many caveats such as difficulty(day), character chosen, and synergies to take into account to make a truly accurate list. For example, the persisting shield is really good IF you cant get the auto shield to roll. Just below the auto shield in power especially for hitless runs.

There are tons of layers, especially when you factor in which upgrades are the best and on what. Just figured a general tier list would be helpful for some.

@@GuntherKnowsGames at the risk of giving you more content, may be better doign a tier list for your first run (beginners guide). if you really wanted to spread it thin, a list per character per difficulty per starting weapons :D

@Trebow thats not a bad idea or just a general tip video. I want more ppl to check this game out since I am loving it so much. I should also do some runs were I take moves I don't normally use or like so I can give them a better chance.

Listing off some of the best synergy combinations might be worthwhile. Obviously things like Shockwave Kunai or Sniper Crossbow (especially with low cooldown as you mentioned) but also less common ones like Poison or Shockwave on the Shadow Dash, or Double Strike Swirl (instant combo synergies in most cases).
