If you enjoyed this video we want to know, who were your favorite and least favorite heroes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3?

I don't Quite agree on Ethel and Cammuravi's placement. The reason their Hero quest stuff is so light is because they are such a big part of the main story and their moment in chapter 4 is one of the highlights of the whole game. In hindsight after having experienced the whole story. The two of them spending their last moments doing something wanted to do for themselves is super resonant. Ethel telling the party to keep her and cammuravi's feelings in their hearts and make it mean something, is like the whole thesis statement of the whole game and is especially important since Ethel was the one who taught Mio and Noah what it means to be a hero. Also Cammuravi gauging out his own eye just so he could be free is incredibly raw so both deserve better.

Wasn't expecting something like this from you. One of the things I realized about this game, which I think is a VERY good things, is there isn't a single Hero I dislike as a character. HOWEVER, I absolutely can't stand Ghondor, and that's entirely because of her voice. I'm Australian, and Ghondor has THE WORST ATTEMPT AN AN AUSTRALIAN ACCENT I'VE EVER HEARD. Looking her VA up she's a BAFTA-winning actress so clearly something must've gone wrong with the voice direction or she's just not good at the accent (the Australian accent is one of the hardest to convincingly fake). The annoying part is Monica's accent is actually really good, to the point where I'm surprised her VA isn't Australian, while Vandham's is so over-the-top it's hilarious to me. Ghondor's voice is so ear-bleedingly awful to me that I wish I could change just her voice to Japanese. Character-wise she's decent though, which makes things worse as her accent makes it impossible for me to take her scenes seriously.

You know, I think that's very fair. I think she's an amazing character, but I can totally see how her sorta-kinda Australian-esque accent could IMMEDIATELY put you off.

I'm not even Australian and I thought Ghondor's voice was extremely ear grating and her accent was atrocious lol, I wanted to like her character cus if you just looked at the words she said, she was a very fun and interesting character but the voice just made it really hard, like u said.

I agreed with most of what y'all said, don't like Valdi quite that much but can see why someone would, but I was curious with Ashera's placement because of my own subjective hatred for her. Ashera was actually my least favorite out of all of them (only Isurd coming close). Perhaps, since like y'all said, colony 10 (11?) was an extension of herself, and I absolutely hated her colony. They were violent and suicidal, and I get that they were an allusion to Norse mythology, with the idea of dying in battle to go to Valhalla, and the 3 main lieutenants being Baldur, Idun, and like, idk, Thor or something (not sure on the fisty guy). But like, they would take it way too far. Instead of seeking out willing opponents or going against super tough monsters, they would attack peaceful colonies like Colony Lambda, and the only reason why they could be stopped is simply cus someone else put up a better fight. Their complete lack of morals pissed me off to the point that I wished the party would have done more to stop their bloodlust cus it actively threatened all that they did to create peace in their world of endless war, their colony was literally stuck in the endless now and went against their entire ideology. And when Eunie gets rightfully pissed off at them and tries to change or stop them, they paint her as the bad one? And then instead of Eunie being able to change them or help them out or whatever, they just force Eunie into thinking more like them and adopting their way of thinking, which is so entirely un-Eunie, because she's supposed to be unabashedly herself. And the sudden twist at the end with Ashera where she's like, if you die, you have to take me with you, and the whole "I look at death similarly to you" absolutely made 0 sense with Eunie's character to me. It seemed completely antithetical to who she actually is. The only thing that I could possibly think as a justification, was that she hated dying to Moebius D, and she I guess wanted to die the way she chose, instead of being murdered by some bad guy. But I still feel like that's flimsy and I just hate that in one of the few opportunities we got to actually give Eunie some depth, they just.... erased her character? Made her submit and give into Ashera's ideology instead of having her own principles, which again, is completely and utterly not what Eunie is, from the few actual character traits we have of Eunie, one of the primary and core ones is that she is herself, she has her own principles, and she is committed to them, to the point that she is confrontational and abrasive to those she disagrees with. To completely erase that, is to erase her character in my opinion. And to suddenly make her like, suicidal? It just pissed me off. So yeah, the game just completely excusing Ashera/Colony 10's behavior and killing Eunie's character made me hate Ashera the most out of all of them. Maybe you guys could make a video on the subject, I really liked your Persona 5 Royal videos, and I feel like maybe you guys could do a good job explaining Ashera/Eunie's relationship, and why y'all liked it, and maybe I could come to understand it or something. Side note: Interesting that y'all said Colony 10/Ashera had one of the more interesting relationships with their consul, I think I agree but I felt like colony 10's consul was just as cliched/had no depth as the rest of the colony consuls (the only good consuls to me were the ones that didn't really have ties to the colonies and were more their own characters, like N, M, J... yeah, the consuls overall weren't the best of characters and my main gripe with Xenoblade 3, the lack of a good defining villain).

See I can totally see where you're coming from but without going into too much here because I think this could be turned into a video. But I think that this segment really bolsters Eunie's character A LOT and really highlights how she is such an individual. I don't think she adopts their way of thinking at all. The game makes it clear to us that she had similar thoughts to Ashera after she had remembered dying by the hands of Moebius but seeing colony 11 helped her come to realization that she's not like them and instead that she wants to take control of her own life and leave the world the way she wants to without throwing her life away meaninglessly like so many people before her in this eternal war. The way I interpreted what she had said was that she wouldn't leave the world on anyone's terms but her own, not meaning by suicide, but by living the way she believes is correct and leaving the world when the time is right. She has never truly had any control over her life to this point and now she is symbolically taking that which she has never truly had any claim to. I thought the game illustrated really well that while she may have had suicidal ideations at one time, by the end of Ashera's ascension that Eunie was actively not suicidal, and it is Ashera who was actually the one that conformed to Eunie's line of thinking in regard to living on their own terms instead of living within the restraints of the world. And I suppose that's in part why I like Ashera so much, because she is a dark mirror of what Eunie could have become and Eunie is able to help Ashera to no longer throw herself at death without any rhyme or reason to it.

@@ThoughtBubbleYT I guess I can see your explanation, I do have ADHD (or something like it, idk, never properly diagnosed), and so often times in scenes with heavy dialogue, parts of it just straight up slips through the cracks of my memory/retention, and so I knew very well that I wasn't remembering all of the Colony 11/Ashera stuff perfectly, and you helped a bit with reminding me what happened there, I like your take on it. I guess I'd just need to either rewatch those scenes or see if you make a video on it because while you say it was clearly illustrated, for me, it wasn't so clear at all, because I remember coming away from Ashera's ascension quest fully believing that Eunie was now suddenly suicidal. I think the main thing that really confused me was the whole thing where Eunie tells Ashera "I'll only kill you if you take me with you". To me that boldly and clearly stated a suicide pact. And maybe there's like, a between the lines meaning there, but I'm personally having a hard time understanding it. TY for the response :D
