Just a few things: Muscadine jelly is amazing on a biscuit (as well as Applebutter, I mean c'mon). Country gravy should be seasoned with pepper while you're cooking it (I don't think it got it's fair shake there). And I think we're missing out on some molasses action (I know it's similar to syrup, but it's thicker and a little less sweet. Goes with a biscuit way better than syrup). And you can't go wrong with chocolate gravy. I had a friend in middle school from Illinois (I'm from the 'Sip), so I had to get my mom to make him some chocolate gravy because he'd never heard of it. He still mentions it to me 10 years later as one of the best things he ever had while he lived down here.

I'm ALWAYS in trouble with the MIL, because at holidays my FIL will call and go, "Hey.... since you're cooking anyway, can you make your dinner rolls, your banana pudding, pumpkin pie, chicken n dumplin's, maybe the turkey?? 😂😂 Bless him... one year I basically made an entire dinner and took down and he TOTALLY threw me under the bus! Ironically, when I saw your thumbnail for this, I figured you weren't going to include chocolate gravy, and I was prepared to be offended. I was SO HAPPY when you introduced it first and ranked it as 1st. It is truly THE BEST topping for biscuits! BUT... agree with those who mentioned... biscuits should *ALWAYS* be buttered (unless you're serving generic toppings like brown gravy, but every toppin' you included deserves some butter (and, of course, butter itself is a great toppin'!) , and both Applebutter and Molasses are classic Southern toppin's that should have been included as well. No. Wrong. The butter is put on the plate. Honey (or molasses) is poured over the butter. The two are mixed by mashing with a fork. Then, the mixture, which can only be referred to as ambrosia, is spread over the hot biscuits. And, yes, you will reach for another bicuit to sop up any leftovers.

Funny honey story. My Papaw tried keeping bees as a hobby. Granny said that in one incident, the bees (naturally) swarmed him as he removed the combs, followed him back to the house and took over his work area on the back porch. Papaw couldn't extract the honey because all the bees and by the end of the day, they'd transported every bit of it back to the hive.😂
