Picked up the ASICS Noosa Tri 14 this week. Wow, what an unbelievably light shoe. Perfect for those faster threshold/tempo days when a carbon plated shoe isn’t always needed or warranted. It’s firmer than other ASICS shoes, but the rocker design propels you forward and feels great when hitting a fast pace.

The asics nimbus 24 is the best upper in the business period. The way it hugs your foot with the new stretch tounge and the ample amounts of heel cushioning I always look forward to putting it on. The nimbus 25 looks even more promising with a bigger stack and less gel. Hopefully it's a perfect blend of the 24 upper with a novablast 3 midsole.

The tongue scared me away. The foam also felt firm compared to the NB More v4 which I bought and enjoyed. The thing I ended up not liking about the More v4 in the end, was ironically, the tongue.
@mickyward3716

@@brothershirt3156 I bought the v4 and returned it immediately. Didn't even go outside in them as the heel foam was top soft for my weight and made me feel like I was doing a wheelie with every step. I like a more sleek fit and the V4 felt sloppy and didn't roll the same way as the V3 which I love. Asics in my opinion nailed the nimbus 24 design and materials , only complaint would be the foam over time started to bottom out and the Weight could come down a oz or two.

I ran fortnightly adverts in the Athletcs Weekly magazine for PUMA spikes, field event shoes and training shoes in the 198s available from my shop The Complete Runner. Their shoes sold well. ASICS also stocked back then as ASICS TIGER.. ASICS has been a leading brand from that time until today. PUMA faded away. We have had no approach from the German brand to stock their shoes. I can't speak for other retailers but I suspect like Nike, Reebok and adidas in the main PUMA are content to sell DTC (direct to customer). A business model which allows them to make 2 markups of course; but not using running specialists deprives the consumer Of the chance to touch the product, assess the quality, get the size right and not have to wait in all day waiting for the delivery man to come! I liked the Puma Velocity Nitro 2 but it is a bit unstable without any kind of arch support. So I the end I can't run as fast with it as I can with my Gel-Nimbus 24 that is heavier but I can get the benefits of the foam since it is quite stable neutral shoe. Hopefully Puma will make the Velocity 3 a bit more stable so it can be used by more runners, even if the weight goes up a tinny bit. The way it is ,for me, the original Asics Nova Blast is more stable then the Puma Velocity Nitro 2.

Velocity Nitro 2s FTW 😍🥰 even tho I don’t even have them, I just have loved every Puma that I have owned so far and when I do get those I don’t think they’ll disappoint. I’m thinking that ima like them better than these Hoka Mach 5s in, They’re good just not what I expected by all the high raves I heard on them. Don’t get me wrong, the Mach 5s are great, I just feel that they’re somewhat overhyped. I may have 50 miles in these and they already are showing some noticeable wear, which I’m not complaining, Just adding that note for anyone that wants a sorta review lol. I haven’t gotten great at long runs yet so it’s taking me awhile to get the longer miles on them lol. Matter of fact, I’ll post a video after my run tomorrow in the Hoka Mach 5s 😊 as a review, etc.
