Same for me, in hindsight. The fact is I think I enjoyed ACoTaR more while reading it, but it was just really unmemorable that I have forgotten most of it. I don't even remember any of the side characters anymore. ToG however, I still can remember the plot and some scenes and the characters too.

These tier rankings never get old to me. There are so many books on your ranking that I need to read. The Midnight Library is on my TBR and despite your low ranking I’m still going to read it because the synopsis sounds interesting. I have to disagree with you on ACOTAR. I’ve only read the first book but I loved it and have heard from several friends that it gets better with each book. But maybe after I read more of these other books I’d have more to compare it to and could possibly feel different.

Love seeing this. ^_^ I liked a court of thorns and roses, loved the second book and hate read the 3rd book (it was so bad!) Did find shadow and bone series to be okay and naturally big fan of how fun the characters of Six of crows was... really didn't vibe with the fith season though and dnf'd, skipped poppy war more due to just...not wanting to read something so very dark. dnf'd ninth house...^_^' mega dnf'd red rising... I read the first shatter me book and it was...fine XD loved Circe and Mexican Gothic, Way of Kings (when a book that long still feels perfectly readable and not too long you know it's good.) Cruel prince was a book i enjoyed...I stalled out early on in book 2...i'll need to try again dnf's Addie Larue...not a fan Throne of Glass have read three of the books I believe or it's okay but I noticed she has a tendency to say her name deciively at the end of each book then renege right back in thenext

I will never appreciate the hate for SJM and RY. Not every book is for every person, but those two have opened the door for so many to start reading fantasy, and also for many indie authors to start writing fantasy. I have been reading my whole life - grew up in the worlds of CS Lewis and Tolkien, etc., so I'm not "new" to fantasy by any stretch of the imagination. These books are different and supposed to be. They were a wild ride and popular for good reason! Plus it's just always fun to be able to join in the conversation, and for that reason alone they are must reads. It's like 50 shades...they weren't great (from a literary perspective) books, but they got people talking and created more readers. And any time a book can do that it deserves hype.
