I think Marvin was saying that a lot of things referred to as nonsense are actually just misunderstood. Hawaii Part II is largely nonsensical lyrically, but those weird lyrics all make total sense with the right perspective. Nothing encapsulates this more than Go to Bed from Joe Hawley Joe Hawley. What sounds like sweet nonsense about bedtime is seemingly about hypnosis-induced group suicide.

In terms of complexity and sheer music theory, TME would take the dub for me personally. The way it combines electronic music with baroque techniques (yes, really) is borderline cathartic. Aight I'm gonna go out on a limb, and attempt to defend the lines in Labyrinth you called out lol. So Labyrinth as an entire song, following The Mind Electric, represents a descent into insanity, right? The person involved is lost in a mass of hallucinations and lost in circles of their own thoughts. So in this state of hallucinations, it makes sense that people who were significant in this person's life would repeatedly show up, right? So him talking about his "ex-girl" and "next girl" is a way of showing the scattered thoughts and experiences of this person as their mental state devolves. Just my own interpretation though, and I can certainly understand why you don't like those lines lmao. This was a really fun and well put together video though. Whether I agreed with you takes or not, I can appreciate the reasoning you used for everything. And I think we can both agree that The Mind Electric is a goddamn masterpiece

this is very obvious if you have ever just listened to the album in order. imo it's an example of a great song transition, because both intro/outro of the respective songs still work on their own, but together they flow together amazingly. whereas good day into greener is terrible, because the transition is literally just good day ending with the start of greener, making both songs sound extremely weird unless they are played one after another. i also dislike pink floyd songs for this reason, almost all of them have terrible transitions that don't follow this rule, making the only enjoyable experience just listening to the entire album.

sea major is great, but it feels like it’s attached to a bonus track which for me doesn’t necessarily change where i’d put the song on a list, but still alters my overall view of the track

this is an incredible ranking. you gave each song an excellent placement. although i may not agree with some of the placements, this is a totally agreeable and acceptable ranking and i’m not mad at all. FINALLY someone agrees that never meant to know is one of the best😭😭. P.S, i think bora was the one singing space station level 7 since i’m pretty sure joe can’t speak japanese.

my favorite song by tally hall is definitely &. in my head nothing will beat it and i never thought of it being called ampersand until now edit: new favs are two wuv, cannibal, and hymn for a scarecrow. your hymn for a scarecrow ranking is horrendous but overall good ranking

Great ranking! Even if I don't agree with everything, it's just really interesting to see how other people interpret music. (Also you should maybe put an epilepsy warning for 23:20 )

@@p1xelat3d At least in my opinion it sounds awful… just not at all enjoyable to listen to. It and mucka blucka are the only ones I skip on MMMM, and I only skip mucka blucka because it’s far too long for the silly joke song it is lol.

In Labyrinth I always thought it went: _"behind me my ex girl chasing me in front of me my next girl spacing me."_ You sure it's facing?

It's funny to me that you didn't like "Turn the Lights Off" much, since it was the only song on Good and Evil that I remembered after my first listen, and was the reason I came back to the album. And still my favorite from it. Buuut I'm not really a Tally Hall fan, just an occasional returning listener. Thanks for all the wonderful perspectives! I'll have plenty to consider when I listen to the three albums again.

this video is really good, I think you ranked the songs in a fair way. although I feel that some songs should've been higher or lower on the list, I don't really care. this video was well-written and the editing was not too bad either. unfortunately you forgot the ballad of nathan naimark, but that's only one song. great video!
