King Crimson is the North Korea of rock bands. Not only due to the ultra strict vibes it gives to its audience (forbidding all photography and recording) and band members (Extremely demanding to every musician), but because it is a relatively small and little-known band compared to all the iconic rock giants, that punches FAR ABOVE AND BEYOND its weight.

ConstruKction/Reconstrukction came out shortly after my 16th birthday and was the first thing I bought after I got my driver's license and could jump in the car and chase down any old thing I felt like. So it's always had a special place in my heart. I can see the argument about it being less melodic than some of their other material, but the density you mentioned gives it its own place in their world.

I like hearing opinions on the discography of one of my favorite bands of all time, so thanks for the video. I don't agree with most of it though. I've come around to Islands and have rated it much higher than I used to, but I just don't get the adoration for Lizard. An awesome, cathartic opening and some brilliant intensity in the Battle of Glass Tears, but the rest of the album is like drunk jazz and just doesn't work at all for me. And I would say that Thrak is a stronger album than the watered down Poseidon.

I absolutely hate vinyl. All of these records sound better as 5.1 and Dolby Atmos Steven Wilson remixes. Vinyl is too high maintenance, too much pops and clicks. The first time you play a vinyl record you begin slowly destroying it. I haven't had a turntable in decades. I don't see what you knuckleheads find so charming with it. I've got all the box sets plus live albums by current line ups but this is my list of the albums. 1. Lizard 2. Larks Tongues in Aspic 3. Starless and Bible Black 4. Islands 5. Red 6. In the Wake of Poseidon 7. In the Court of the Crimson King 9. The Power to Believe 10. Thrak 11. Discipline 12. Three of a Perfect Pair 13. Beat 14. I hate the SW remix of Lizard, at least the one in the box. Its clearly the black sheep of those remixes because Fripp "helped" Wilson with it and made edits to the music which completely change the feel. So I dont think its so much that he likes it now for the new mix, more because he went in and changed a bunch of stuff which makes it more of a re envision. There is a version of that Wilson worked alone on but its only been released on CD and many prefer it.
