You guys are doing awesome! Get'n real close to needing the money to noise converter up front!

Great job Steve, your attention to detail is awesome. You are going to end up with a beautiful aircraft when your done. I found on my kit, where you were showing where some spots needed more spacers in some areas, that my tabs were bent slightly in or out. I trued these all up while dry fitting the parts, and therefore required no spacers. It seems the tabs are welded on fairly casually so a quick check of these can save some time. Great job on that ELT antenna! Come up and install mine!!

Did you try seating (not breaking - that is when you are removing the tires the beads without the strap? I know some had a hard time seating the beads, but mine went easily. My wife added air and I just pushed down with my hands at 10 and 2 o’clock and the beads seated quite easily.

Should the split wheels be torqued with the tire deflated?
@CLEAREDDIRECT

Great point! Maybe that’s why I’m losing a little air. I’ll deflate and re-torque! Thanks so much. See? This is why I put myself out there!

Just another thought... Could the perceived leak be do to a reduction in temperature after inflation?
@Bushmasterpilot

Wheel halves are always torqued before inflation. We alway initially inflate tires to 30 psi because you will get some air trapped between tire and tube. Always dust your tubes with baby powder to prevent getting tube pinched between wheel halves. Put tube in tire and inflate tube, then pull shrader valve out, then install wheel halves.

For the hole, consider putting a solid doubler under it and then filling with lightweight auto body filler. That will sand smooth and is very light. You probably won’t be able to find the hole once it is sanded properly, primed and painted.

Great videos! Love the content! Hoping to be building a plane in the next couple of years! Just gotta save up haha. Also, is your sons name Kellan? Only reason I ask is because that’s my name and it sounded like that’s what you called him towards the end of the video! Also, i live just south of Seattle. Maybe I’ll see you around when the build is all done! Stay out of the clouds!

Welcome aboard, Kellan! Yep that’s my son’s name too. Good strong name 👊 I can’t wait to get this plane finished and fly it all around the PNW and beyond. I look forward to meeting you

As an "A & P" mechanic, I would suggest that when ever you can put a "Box end" wrench on a bolt. YOUR KNOCKELS will thank you!!!!

Here are my thoughts the ELT antenna is not active. I could understand the distances if it was a second radio or a receiver for dedicated VOR or IFR...

I had the same thought but for some reason avionics folks are pretty adamant. Not sure the exact science.

Don't get a swelled head now...but thank goodness for the latest vids. Holy crap. I am totally, completely, utterly saturated with lousy damned news. Ignorance really is bliss. I get that now. Also...there isn't one chance in a million that a 1st time project of this complexity is going to go perfectly. Heck...I bet that even if you followed the plans exactly, the project would still require some going back and fixing stuff. You let it all hang out...and that's groovy, man.

Might want to check the fire resistance of Proseal before using it on the firewall. Yes, you want to seal against CO, but you don’t want the sealing material to produce toxic fumes should the firewall be called upon to fulfill its name.

Brake cleaner is very rough on many seal materials. Better to use alcohol or kerosene for cleaning parts with rubber or polymer seals.

Why did he use Vaseline when he had the NoMar lube handy? NoMar is much friendlier to rubber and plastic parts than is Vaseline.

Really disappointed with this one. Pictures of Nomar when he was not wearing Dodger blue? You can do better. Seriously now, loved the video, thanks.
