This is a remake of the original video from TechMasterJason. Enjoy it!
The TV (short for television, OBVIOUSLY) is (or was) simply one of the MOST important things to exist on this screwed up planet! Its purpose is to entertain, educate and inform people about different things. Created in 1927 by a man named Philo T. Farnsworth (RIP 1906-1971), the TV was a revolutionary new piece of tech that would actually NOT become popular until the 1950s. Beginning in THIS decade of the 20th century, the movie theater has actually started to DECLINE in popularity as more and more people have started owning television sets in their homes! Cartoons (in particular) would THEN start to be shown on TV, rather than at the movies. This AMAZING piece of technology would start appearing in the house beginning in the 50s and ending at the present day! Like, you can see how important it is! This was one of the first things you would see inside somebody's house. The black screen set up on a stand or inside an entertainment center would IMMEDIATELY draw your attention back in like 1955! Seeing that it was a new thing (wish I grew up in the 1950s but am happy that the 2000s were the decade I grew up in). Over the years, we have seen television EVOLVE into what it is today! Through their ads, bumpers, newscasts and ESPECIALLY their shows.
The TV has its advantages and disadvantages. The advantages include it giving us IMPORTANT news (don't watch CNN though because they suck), wanting products from ads, learning about different cultures and of course, entertaining us with excellent shows (some of them were bad though). Disadvantages include gaining weight from sitting in front of the TV for hours, struggling with social situations, false information and having your children being exposed to VIOLENT programs (making them imitate what's on the shows). It is IMPORTANT to monitor your viewers (ESPECIALLY kids as parents) to give them the balanced life they NEED. One VERY good reason on why the 2020s suck is because of today's kids being addicted to TV (and similar other forms of entertainment)!
I started to remember watching TV in late 2003/early 2004, and THIS was when it started to really peak. So many ICONIC shows and commercials were airing! Back then, you could NOT stop watching the telly! Your parents would have to pull ya away from it if you did NOT spend your entire day outside (thank GOD I'm not a braindead 2020s little brat addicted to TV, but rather a smart 2000s kid who AT LEAST tried to balance my life). If YOU are a parent of a kid (or two, or three LOL), it is YOUR JOB to help monitor your child (or children if you have more than 1) on how much TV he or she (they if more than 1 kid) watches. As a person childless by choice, looks like I don't have to worry about that! :)
While TVs will CONTINUE to exist forever, streaming is the way to go now (as cable TV has TRULY started dying off by the mid 2010s). I recommend you get a Roku, and download your favorite streaming services to watch shows on. Watch out for the shut down of Disney+, a streaming service launched in November 2019 by The Walt Disney Company! As Disney is RECENTLY struggling to keep their things afloat due to people BOYCOTTING the company (myself included, especially because Splash Mountain is GONE).
Enjoy the rant!
