As a teenager throughout the 70's, men were clearly more romantic. Expressing feelings came easy. We spent time talking, having adventures, experiencing life - no phones, no internet. It made a difference. All communications in relationships were Face to face - no texting. I think that's why 70's balads are just a step above the rest.

@@ruthlafler5622 It was done quite often, and was one reason why records could be expensive to produce. Hearthrobs like Frankie Avalon owe their careers to it. AutoTune has reduced the number of takes needed, and has simply become standard practice. I have a friend with a daughter majoring in voice performance at Berklee. I've worked with her; she has no issues with pitch, yet she still has to practice recording with AutoTune in production lab, because if she wants professional work, she will have to expect it as part of the process. She won't need it, but it will be there anyway.
