Ren is well aware of the irony of making money off of his pain while singing about greed. But just like everything else with Ren, his awareness of the problem allows him to walk that line without falling off hard in either direction...and in most cases, ultimately, that's all any of us can do. It also happens to be the entire point of "Hi Ren".

This is one of his best lyrical performances hands down. He wrote the majority of Sick Boi a few years ago and released much of it along the way. He wrote this song and Money Game 3, just prior to the album’s release because he felt it needed a couple more tracks. This was written with the intention of just being the intro, I believe, and as he went along writing, it turned into this masterpiece. He kept it as the opening track and it’s an incredible opening track. It shows off that even a phenomenal lyricist like Ren, has improved his skills over the course of his life. The 33 year old Ren really has something to say.

You're both right about Ren's insane resilience. The Lyme continued to ravage Ren's system and organs for many years while it went undiagnosed - including his brain damage and cell disorder. Several factors attributed to Ren developing episodes of psychosis and, consequently, PTSD, but it's from being treated for mental illness that you don't have. (Which, ironically, makes you develop mental diagnoses - just not the ones they drugged you up for. I love this song and am so glad you reacted to it. As the first track on the Sick Boi album, it really sets the conceptual stage as well as forewarning you the sonics will be diverse. I need to check again since it's been a while, but did you ever hear Ren's songs with Eden Nash? I prefer "Ocean," but "Humble" is 🔥 too. Different than the usual. Makes me wish I was driving alongside the beach.

Yes, it got worse & worse & did so much damage. Lyme is treatable w/antibiotics if you get a diagnosis w/in a few weeks. It took him years to get diagnosed correctly so it was ravaging his body until then. And of course being so sick like you're going to die will mess with your head, make you think you're crazy, depressed etc, along with meds he shouldn't have been prescribed doing more damage. He deserves all the success & happiness in the world now.

Wow…he just doesn’t disappoint! Those lyrics are so specific yet so relatable…’bones were the home where the devil could rest’ hit hard… A perfect expression of the emotional challenge of having your body betray you at such a young age. If I were a gifted poet or lyricist I would’ve said it the same way, but I’m a long-winded emotional writer and I’ve always told myself the story this way… When the pain sets in either nerves, muscles or bones, it feels like I’m tied at the end of a long rope tethered to Satan‘s dick, and whenever the wind blows and he gets hard i get thrashed about. Lol…. I wish there was a poetic way to say that, but REN summed it up perfectly! Or I’m sure the two of you could write that for me 😎 btw mines just from a car wreck not from a horrible disease and being misdiagnosed… But I do know how it feels to be betrayed by the doctors that you’re supposed to trust. The only reason I know all seven of the deadly sins is because of the movie Se7en lol… Strawberries 🍓 💚❤ My very favorite food on this planet! I can have a kitchen full of other stuff, but if I don’t have strawberries, I feel like I don’t have anything lol never heard em called Scrawburries before tho 😂✌

Hi there,to be fair Lyme's is not common in U.k.so I don't think it's a thing that they look for.That is why Ren is being treated in Canada.😊
@Penddraig7
8 ай бұрын
It’s pretty common here in the UK about 4000 new recorded cases every year, it’s just that it’s not taught about as much as it probably should and so with say teenagers who are semi independent and with boys especially, they tend not to go to doctors and will usually rush off things as minor or will ignore it and hope it goes away which plays out in the statistics. Most recorded cases are amongst children and of the sexes most recorded cases are with females, this is because boys and men are notoriously bad at getting medical attention and so are less likely to end up as a statistic. I know I am guilty of it. The main sign of Lyme disease is the circular shaped rash around the tick bite and some people might get a bite somewhere they can’t see and even if they could see wouldn’t know what it meant, they might just assume it’s a normal rash from a insect bite and just wait it out to see if it goes away which I does, you also might get mild flu like symptoms and so those symptoms might just be passed off as a having a mild flu. Teenage boys and men are far less likely to go see a GP over things which don’t really adversely effect them in a serious way and with a Lyme disease rash it can appear months after the tick bite so it would be very easy to pass off as just a rash. I can’t say for sure because I haven’t seen Ren go into details to say one way or the other but my guess is he didn’t see a circular rash or he did and brushed it off and didn’t get it checked out and so by the time the effects of the Lyme disease started having an adverse effect on him to the point he went to see a GP, there would not have been any visual indication to suggest to the GP that it was Lyme disease and hence why it was not diagnosed and treated as such, the Lyme disease was causing other symptoms which was all the GP had to go on and that is just one of the difficulties of trying to diagnose something when symptoms that present mask other symptoms. The answer is to educate kids about the importance of checking their bodies for things that are not normal and obviously at a certain age that should be the responsibility of the parents but after say as a teenager, the teenager should do it themselves and if they find something then it should be second nature for them to go the a pharmacist or a GP to get it looked at depending on what and where it is, kids and adults can’t be taught about every single possible thing but if they checking yourself say once a week was drummed into them as part of their routine and to get things looked at if they find something then maybe less things would go untreated and less people would go through what Ren has gone through

Hey guys, thank you for the reaction! Instead of hoping on the bandwagon of commenting on Ren said or some personal reflection. I want to address a comment that Hollywood made at the end of the reaction. Though I have no love for religion, which boiled down means man's effort to be right with God, which is impossible if that person hopes to see heaven, the comment which was stated how the 7 seven deadly sins are just used to control people. From a religious point of view there might be some accuracy to that but nevertheless it doesn't make that viewpoint true. The seven deadly sins are actually warnings, like if a person chooses to do any of these things, inevitably these sins will cost them their life, so God highlighted these particular sins as a deterrent so people wouldn't have to lose their life. I won't list them all but if some person murders someone else, then depending on how the court is feeling that day, could end of facing the death penalty. If a gluttonous person pulls a chair up to a buffet every day of his life, inevitably his weight is going to be too much for his heart, and it will be the end of him. I presume logic can reveal the reasons for the remaining sins.
