I can't believe none of y'all have caught on why he could not respond correctly and had to retract. The old formula was to come out when you young and hot. As you get older you start pulling in ghost writers to keep you relevant. The new format is to be the old rapper be the ghost writer and the let the young new rapper be your proxy. The real reason he couldn't respond is because Jay-Z is too busy handling legal problems with Diddy behind the scene and does not have time to submit any verses of substance. His name is literally "J. Cole" signed to Rock Nation. He is Jigga's proxy rapper and has always been since "I got that flame" . Do your research....

You must be a new fan or something. Kendrick did not start start this beef. If you listened to his verse in Like That he makes it clear he’s responding to the disrespect from both Cole and Drake in First Person Shooter. Everybody knows Drake and Kendrick have been going at it for years and it’s been speculated that Cole has been throwing digs at Kendrick for a while as well. Since Cole has bowed himself out there’s no need for Kendrick to respond to him (not saying that he’s still not going to but there’d be no point) but Drake has been talking and it’s already been rumored that Kendrick is in the booth as we speak. Cole was really washing some of the best rappers lyrically on features. The only other person to hold it down lyrically for the south was Lil Wayne. He let the entire south down. He was our champion.

I think J.Cole did what he did, to keep Drake from saying it about Kendrick 🤷♂️

J. Cole could have come out as "gay" and that STILL wouldn't have stung as much as that apology.

I wanted to like this podcast but the way they drop is so random. They drop old stuff as if it’s new weeks later. No one is looking for this

First off love the pod. Been watching for years!! I love the evolution of everyone. I miss the old pull ups though lol. Side note, would love to see a full wiz khalifa interview. He is on a huge run. The pandemic live interview doesnt count. Keep doing your thing.

Nah, Jay apologized to Nas about Superugly. Y’all are old enough to remember this. Cole can apologize if it didn’t sit right with him. He did throw shots at Kanye on False Prophets. Kanye is coming at him now and Cole should definitely respond. Jay apologized and people didn’t like it but he turned out fine. Please refer to the Angie Martinez interview from drink champs talking about Jays apology on KZitem. Y’all are dragging it out. It was a Mature call on Cole’s part. Especially when the track was mainly aimed at Drake.
