I was shocked when I went that it was my number 2 at the park. It's such a perfect combination of early B&M ferocity with large scale that makes the forces even more sustained. Love all the whip and toe-tingling positive Gs.

@@CanobieCoaster My experience is colored a lot by getting the last ride on Raptor before a big storm. Front row in the pouring rain, it was hauling and felt absolutely unhinged. But Milly is close to Raptor for me, and Maverick was hurt by being down for most of my visit, so my only ride was first thing in the morning in a middle row.

Raptor is one of my favourite inverts but I've not ridden Montu, Katun, Monster or Pyranees. I've ridden Nemesis, Nemesis Inferno, 3 Bat Man Clones, Afterburn, Banshee and Flight Deck. Raptor has the longest Prime ride duration and was the tallest fastest coaster I rode on the evening of May 21st 1018 having beaten Rolling Thunder August in 1981. I would break those records later that hour by Gatekeeper, Valravn and Millennium Force.

Leaning my head forward does help with the headbanging, but it still nails me sometimes. The ride doesn't feel as intense to me as it does to others, but I'll go for a ride if the line is short. Last visit, I arrived around noon one day (dead car battery), and it was a 15-minute wait in the regular line, but by the time I got off, the fast lane line was spilling out far down the midway, and was longer than the regular line.

This is the ride I spend the most time at when I go to Cedar Point. I always want multiple rides, often even 10-15 on it. I really enjoy that back row exit side seat for the first drop. I also believe the exit side seats generally have less to no headbanging. I bang my head the most in row 1, seat 1, that very first seat. This ride is much smoother than Banshee, which is so much newer, and I don't understand it. I could never lap Banshee the way I do on Raptor.

I can never hold my head forward on roller coasters because if I forget to put it back against the headrest before the positive G sections, it gets snapped downward in a deeply unpleasant way that I find worse than headbanging. I headbanged a bit while riding Raptor, but it was never really painful and was more of a "Wow, this thing is powerful" sort of feeling.

You really have to know how to ride B&M OTSRs (for your particular body) or it will abuse you. I've ridden every custom layout B&M in the US except CGA's, and Raptor is by far the most abusive. I really only have Great Bear & Patriot (WOF) lower in my B&M invert list do to how defensive I have to ride. Afterburn & Montu do whip better. Alpen & Banshee are massive monsters that bring the Gs. Silverbullet actually has airtime. And Talon is a nice all rounder.
