This song really has a lot more meaning when you bear in mind the fact that her voice actress, Eden Espinosa, was the understudy for Idina Menzel in Wicked. She was literally "Waiting in the wings". Also, "It's always someone else who sings" really hits hard knowing that.

I've been in that boat, and yeah it really does sting. All I can say is that you shouldn't give up - keep pursuing those goals and work hard to make them come true. Even if people now don't acknowledge you, someone out there will care. Don't do what I did and hold yourself back for fear of being rejected. If they reject you, find someone who won't. The world is so much wider than people would have us believe. Keep up the good fight.

I personally think that Cassandra is a more relatable character than Rapunzel. Aside from being kidnapped as a baby Rapunzel is blessed, she wasn’t blessed in the past but now she is. She’s a Princess, almost the entire Kingdom loves her and has Magical Hair. These characteristics aren’t very relatable. But Cassandra on the other hand is actually relatable. She wasn’t loved by everyone, she isn’t a Princess, she doesn’t have a unique power unlike Rapunzel, she was outshined by her friend (Rapunzel), her ideas, opinions and emotions were mostly ignored by her friends and family, her talents were mostly ignored by her friends and family. And she experienced emotions more realistically than Rapunzel. Rapunzel was always positive and didn’t really experience sadness, anger or regret much and when she did she went to being positive pretty quickly. Cassandra on the other hand experienced emotions realistically. Cassandra was pretty normal not always positive. And she experienced sadness, anger and regret and she experienced them long term. Which is more realistic and relatable. Cassandra wanted to break free and she did, even tho most of us didn’t break free (maybe not yet) I think most people at one point in their life wanted to break free. Cassandra wanted her time to shine. I think most of us can relate to that. Cassandra had ambition, high goals which wasn’t really a thing we saw in Rapunzel. Cassandra also likes solitude and privacy. Which also wasn’t really a thing we saw in Rapunzel. And liking to be alone is more relatable in my opinion. I think that Rapunzel was a bit too perfect. For example Cassandra was good at fighting because she was training since she was really young. But Rapunzel hadn’t trained much but still she was good at fighting. And she even won Challenge of The Brave. And being perfect isn’t really relatable.

Man, Cassandra’s arc hit me HARD. I had always thought (like Rapunzel) she was happy in the little group with where she was. Little did I know her backstory and the connection she and Raps shared, which could have been so much deeper if both had realized sooner. Her arc was amazing, but man was it emotional realizing that she and Raps were so similar yet so different. Goodness I love this series.

Stuck indoors all day, and when I go outside, I am stuck in this little neighborhood. Where nothing happens. I see so many opportunities I can't take. But...my friends, they're finding themselves, getting opportunities, gaining confidence. Finding love. So why can't it be me? Why don't I get them? Why do I have to stay here waiting for something that I don't even know? So yeah, just like Cass, it stings. It stings so bad.

I’ve always wanted to be like her but no matter how much I try I always end up feeling outshined by my own sister. Even in elementary school my own friends showed more interest in her than they did me. I wish I could just shout as loud as Cassandra on the last parts of the lyrics. Thank you for listening

Raps was more relatable in the movie, waiting and wondering when she will finally get an opportunity for adventure, when will change happen, and finally pursuing her dreams and feeling all the anxieties that come with it such as disappointing your family or not knowing what to do next. In my opinion both Eugene and rap’s personalities took a backstage in the tv series and lack a lot of depth they had before or that even the new characters have now. A shame really.

To add spice, pressure to be a good queen whilst trying to get her painting reputation off the ground. It would make for a more relatable character in my opinion as she has hopes and dreams too she worries she won't achieve: just like everyone else. Idk it's something I think would fit her

Cass is tired of being pushed aside so she just wants a chance to stand out and be herself without anyone telling her to 'wait or 'the guards will handle this'. Cass has been treated poorly by her friends so it's no wonder she snapped. I'm sorry if I've offended you by spelling something wrong or if you don't agree with me or if I've got the facts wrong , tell me if I have so I can apologise. This is just my opinion so you don't have to agree.

Agreed and despite Rapunzel trying to help out she has to understand Cass needs her privacy and has her own things. Also despite her supporting Cass she should have been there for her. For example Challange Of The Brave i get that she looks up to Cass but this was her chanse and meant alot to her so Rapunzel should have let her compite. Yes the ending was sweet but i can't blame Cass's frusteration thoug her attack was not right i can't blame her

Tbh , I can't help but cry whenever I listen to this song ... It's just that, I relate too much to it... 💔 The moment my dad remarried he's been treating my step family a whole lot better. Such as cooking them all sorts of yummy meals , buying them new things. something that he didn't do when he was still with my mom. Especially to my step sister they treat her as if she's a pprincess ,she would recieve all sorts of constant praises regarding with her looks , intellegence , skills etc... that I begin to think negatively and feel pretty much inferior towards her , that I would even question my own worth as result and be convinced that i'm nothing more than worthless... Seeing her always being at the pedestal where as my siblings and I are only set aside hurts me pretty badly that sometimes I don't want to go home anymore and feel this kind of pain... I even have plans for running away. Since I've realized ... That he loves people who aren't realted to him by blood , more than his real family... I've supported his decision in remarrying so that he could be happy , but I never signed up to feel this way.... Although despite this song reminds me of all my envy , resentment and insecurity it's actually my favorite of all the tangled series songs.❤️❤️❤️

You know many people are talking about how she’s not letting anyone sleep because she’s singing. And I understand that, but wouldn’t you be slightly concerned that she feels ultimately worse than everyone else? She’s literally singing about how she’s never gotten her chance to show her worth, but she’s always overlooked. If I had been there I would have been concerned for her and wanted to help her, not get angry because I couldn’t sleep? Just my thoughts, I don’t mean to offend anyone either, it’s just what I would do

Such a beautiful song and Eden is the best Cassandra by acting and singing. Her singing is absoulutly beautiful and she played Cassandra wounderfully as the kind-hearted sister and villain. I think that Cassandra is a much more relatable character than Rapunzel.

Verse 1 Guess we all are born with parts to play Some of us are stars and some are just In the way I know I was meant for glory But that's never what my story brings And yet I keep on waiting Verse 2 When you have the passion and the drive You expect your moment center stage To arrive I show up with heart ablazing Ready to achieve amazing things But I'm left waiting in the wings Chorus I hear my cue And yet I'm kept there waiting Know what to do And still I stand there waiting It's always someone else Who sings While I'm left waiting in the wings Verse 3 And so I wonder when's the time This spry and eager bird can soar Through the sky I could show them what I'm made of Tear off my binding weight of strings Or stay here waiting Verse 4 I stand with patience on my brow I can hear the crowd as others take Another bow I ask was my fate made certain Sidelined as the final curtain swings Forever waiting in the wings Chorus I give my all And still they say keep waiting Resist the call Just be content while waiting Be sure to be there when She rings That's why you're waiting in the wings Bridge And so I keep on keeping on My chances come and then I blink and they're gone Always overlooked unfairly While pretending that it barely stings But it stings oh yes it stings Chorus And I'll shed no tears I'll only keep on waiting If no one cheers Well I can keep on waiting Who cares how loud The silence rings You'll find me waiting in the wings

Chorus And I won't be sad, And when they leave me waiting, If I'm alone, Well I can keep on waiting All by myself... When the time's right, You'll find me waiting in the wings...

I'm a soprano 2, so the beginning's not so hard for me lol But it does get pretty close to being a little too deep for me. Honestly, Cassandra's parts in songs are all right in the range I can hit - a little higher and I'd be straining too much, and a little lower I wouldn't really be able to sing at all. Voices are pretty strange XD Personally, I just feel bad for the altos. The ones I know definitely wouldn't be able to hit the high notes without sounding really strained :/ Always sucks to find a song that you can only sing, like, half of

I love this song but I can't quite sympathize with Cassandra here. There was an entire episode where she could have achieved what she's wanting but she gave it up to stay with Rapunzel during a flashback episode in Season 3, Episode 6: Beginnings. She has her chance, her moment in the spotlight, her chance at glory and she threw it away. That's not to say that it was wrong of her to value her friendship with Rapunzel but when you constantly put your friendships over your own sense of self that IS NOT a good thing. You slowly lose yourself and get worn down. Cassandra should have taken the chance and this whole thing would have been avoided.
