There was a Mark III in 1958 and Mark IV in 1959 and the Mark V in 1960. These were named Continental, however, they were no longer totally hand assembled as the Mark II was. Ford lost money on the 58 thru 1960 Marks III to V due to the tooling required for the uni-body construction. Perhaps, this is why they chose to ignore them when they introduced the Continental Mark III in 1969. I believe the early Mark III thru V were one of the largest vehicles ever produced. As a youth, a had a close friend whose father was a medical doctor who owned a black 1958 Mark III. He told me that the first time they went on vacation outside the state of Indiana, that one state they visited required the car to have an oversize load banner put in on the car.
