The original cylon raiders and vipers had red missiles that would actually fire when you pressed the button. They were soon replaced by missiles that would only pop forward slightly (as seen in this video). I seem to recall either it hit a child's eye, or they swallowed it. I think it was an eye injury that prompted the change. My brother and I got cylon raiders for Christmas, and we were lucky enough to get the ones that actually fired the missiles. Funny story: right before Christmas, we went looking for Christmas presents and found them. Mom threatened to give them to more deserving (and less curious) children.

The plastic junk toy makers slap the name on everything they could. Suddenly that crappy am radio was now a ""Battlestar Galactica Fleet radio"".... Which syndication moved BSG to earlier in the night, time slots so kids were able watch it. Remember back In the late 1970's and early 1980's Kids still had 8 pm and if lucky a 9 pm bed times. They didn't have multiple TVs in the house, let alone one in their room. Especially as you started moving out of real cities.
