Great work Brian!! Love the construction site hunts. Try a week long soak in vinegar for those crusty coins, it’s worked for me in the past. God bless

The Grand Republic was a boat that Howard Blackburn sailed across the Atlantic solo around 1900 from Gloucester Massachusetts -maybe connected. He was quite a guy and retired to own his own saloon, and he smoked cigars!

You can try CLR on the coins if you are not too concerned with them, otherwise let them soak in distilled water for a week or two. Nice finds.

I agree vinegar or electrolysis... The coin is already ruined so neither will hurt the value but they might add to aesthetic value.

Are you going to put that flintlock through electrolysis? It works great for crusty coins also.

I decided not to do electrolysis on it. I like seeing the rusty iron parts
