Great advice! I actually went shopping today and must have looked really weird because I was touching the soles of all shoes to check if they are plastic-y..... and of course if they were - next stage was to try them on and spin in the shop 😁 So in the end got 2 new pairs of sneakers!

You need to try Werner Kern shoes. I'm not using any other brand anymore. They are exquisitely made and last forever.

Very good video. At a recent dance convention, fewer and fewer of the dance professionals are actually wearing 'dance' shoes at long events, but lots of shoes like your first 2 examples....comfortable street shoes that can spin and turn. The sparkly dance sandals looked so uncomfortable and I even noticed little toes hanging out of the straps, which had to be painful after a time.

Hi Rasa, I enjoyed the video, you sound so happy just like I feel when I'm dancing, yes shoes are very important and also as you say how long you can wear them, but also making sure they do fit, I've seen a number of people with there toes hanging out of the shoes it must be uncomfortable, I do find open sandal dress shoes are nice, and easy to dance in, I take 2 pairs with me when I go dancing , I find that helps in simmilar style and with those dance jels inside they save my feet so much, Loved all your shoes can't wait for your next one, I love talking about shoes xx

Great video! Excellent advice especially about avoiding strappy shoes. Hey, I wore a regular pair of stilettos similar in height as yours for a wedding... Didn't plan on dancing, but found them easier to dance in than my flare heel dance shoes! Thanks

Rasa, would you recommend specific plastic-y sole sneakers, I went shopping for nice sneakers I can dance on, and haven’t been lucky finding them! You’re so right, dancing shoes are not pretty, the only one I’ve found that look normal and that lets you spin are the fuegos sneakers.

Hi rasa! I really appreciate what you do here on KZitem and ista as well. I started dancing salsa and bachata around one year ago, and at this moment I would like to purchase my first pair of heels for Latino dance. The prices are so high in good shops (at least 120€) and I wanted a tip from you. Would you suggest me some brands that are more affordable? Maybe on Amazon? Thank you very much 😊 Giulia

Most shoes that are really good brand names will be that price but don't worry about names, any shoe from China will be definitely good enough, just look for smth that would be returnable incase doesn't fit properly 😉 😇

Thank you! Great information. Sneakers have worked out great for lessons and practice. I have a pair of glitter sneakers for going out. I do have a pair of Werner Kern dancing shows showcases. You can also glue suede to the sole of non-dance shoes to make spinning easier.

Also: there are some vegan alternatives that look as though they'll work fine to make better soles for dancing.

Hello Rasa, you are amazing as always. Thank you so much for making this video ❤️ I have a question though. Do your shoes have protective plastic cases? I don't know how they're called exactly but I'm sure you'll know what I'm talking about. I would dance with normal shoes but many dance schools don't allow it because they say it could damage the floor :( what was your experience?
@DanceWithRasa
4 жыл бұрын
My shoes do not leave the marks on the floor, i know what you mean, then try to get a trainer that is very light, those usually dont leave marks and look like dance sneakers and nobody would know different 😊

Thank you. I no longer feel guilty for not wearing 'dance' shoes. I have a couple of pairs that are comfortable (not cheap) but don't want to ruin the soles if I'm dancing in a club/bar so have been using cheaper normal shoes that are comfortable and allow the spin and feel secure/stable. However, I usually say they are not my proper dance shoes - I will no longer do that!
@DanceWithRasa
4 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Think long run you want to be able to wear heals for as long as possible in your life, and if you ruin your feet early whats the point in that? If you can dance in your shoes they are your dancing shoes 😉
