Rasakalan | രസകാളൻ
Rasakalan is traditional north Kerala dish especially popular in Trichur ,Palaghat regions of Kerala.
Rasakalan is made by cooking vegetables with curd and coconut to create creamy and flavorsome curry. This dish is a speciality for the sadya served at the famous Guruvayur temple in Kerala
Ingredients
Raw banana 1/3 c
Pumpkin 1/2 c
Ash gourd 1/2 c
Green chilli 2
Curry leaves few
Tamarind 1 small lime sixed
Turmeric powder 3/4 tsp
Chilli powder 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder 1/8 tsp
Drumstick 1
Water As required
Jaggery powder 1/2 tbsp
Curd 3/4 c
Salt 1 1/2 tsp
For grinding:
Coconut 1/2 c
Green chili 1
Rice 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek 1/2 tsp
Water/curd
Tempering
Ghee 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves few
Dry chill 1
fenugreek powder 1 pinch
