@@dondada3986 I agree, and I am speaking from a competitor's perspective. Years ago, I admittedly did not care for the Luke Thomas/Ariel-type podcasts. Luke has definitely improved, and his co-host is knowledgeable and keeps it interesting. No doubt, the fighters will always have a place on any MMA podcast team. But, yeah, I tend to agree that you do not have to be a fighter to run a successful MMA podcast.

A lot of us are going through tons of content throughout the day, so from a marketing perspective its not very strategic to gamble on your consumer base being willing to do extra work - typically, you'd want as few hurdles as possible when it comes to enticing people to consume your content as there's plenty of competition being thrown at them 24/7

Being a wrestler myself I always root for the wrestling based champions or really grappling in general. I get to some extent why some people think he’s boring but in reality he puts on a masterclass of control and drowning an opponent. Like Rashad was saying it takes the challenger to bring something too. With how great Burns is especially from a jiu jitsu standpoint we’ll see how great Usman really is #andstill

Post UFC 258 I can say rashad was really accurate with what he said about gilbert falling onto his own sword. The finishing sequence was gilbert walking into a jab, just like how rashad did against hendo. Gilbert got too emotional

I was thinking burns was going to beat kamaru, but considering I don’t think burns will take him down and kamaru probably won’t because of the submission threat it’ll probably stay standing. Both guys have good chins but I think kamarus reach advantage and working with a great striking coach like Whitmann will be the difference and kamaru will get the win.

Rashad is the man! When I started watching UFC well over 10 years ago now, as a Nigerian, there were no high level Nigerian fighters to take inspiration from, which was fine, but in turn I gravitated towards Rashad (and others who weren’t black) and to see Now he was the inspiration or at least trainer for the now Nigerian champ, it’s just nice man lol. I love the bromance between them, I love hearing these stories about Usman too, if he can end the year as champ, we’re looking at an all time great.
