On wall power I can overclock to 2125/866 (old Pi4 rev. 1.1) Android on battery 1800-2000/866. Twister OS 2000/866 maybe 2100. I haven't really experimented with the newer rev. 1.4 8GB. Which on wall power I can get up to 2300/933. 2275/933 stable, God of war, PSP, playable.The only benefit is the higher end gaming. Pi4 boombox, and sub-notebook Pi4 mini laptop. One project that evolved into 2 separate portable Pi4s. The boombox is a lot of fun, tape still works, great for watching tv and movies literally anywhere, or desktop, or emulation. And the minilaptop, used to be a portable DVD player. The screen was replaced with a touchscreen of the same size. There is a strange phenomena I've discovered, the Android works perfect at home 24-7, days at a time, get to where I'm working and it acts like it has a power problem, starting and restarting. Even before a hotspot is set up. Even taken it up to 6v with a buck converter capable of 5A. Shortening and replacing all of the wires, split the power for the screen separate keyboard/mouse share a dongle. Works perfect at home though. Such an unusual problem.

There's a lot of overlap in the use cases people put raspberry pis for and what people use things like this (i think a semi new thin client maybe?) for, and especially with how scarce pis can be recently ish if your use case doesn't need gpio or whatever alternatives like this are a good option. (Like if you just want a small file server in your house to give one example, or maybe you wanna do something in python on a server or run pihole)
@animehair05silently88

Plus with a raspberry pi you need to buy all the other stuff separately. With a used thin client you can just get the power supply, internal storage, and a few gigabytes of ram included on ebay, or anything other than the power supply isn't included you can just go crazy with it depending on exactly what you get and what your budget is. I have a used thin client with 32 GB of ram installed and two whole m.2 sata ssd slots and i think it might support 64 GB of ram even potentially. (hp t630)

100% agree. Lots of people don't use the Pi in ways where it excels. They essentially use it for things which can be done by any normal PC. They don't use the pins. The low power consumption isn't an issue. The small size isn't an issue. Used thin clients are like hot rods compared to the Pi. They're dirt cheap, you can find them for like 20 bucks and you can actually get them for free if you use them where you work and you know the right people. They come with their own case. Some are setup to be plugged right into the wall with no need for some kind of power adapter. Getting many of them setup is really no different than any other PC. I really don't understand why people defend the Pi so much. Their use case is pretty narrow where you need more horsepower and functionality than a microcontroller but a smaller footprint than a really small PC.

The size allows you to place it discreetly in almost any physical enclosure meaning you can create all types of SFF machines or touch screen devices. I've got one used as a NAS/Plex server that sits discreetly right next to my router. I don't need any peripheral devices, I don't need a monitor, and it's efficient enough that I really don't even need cooling. Seriously the pi or other similar SBCs fit in the palm of my hand. The entire point is that you can use it for whatever project you have in mind, it does everything one of those $20 mini PCs will do but it does it at a fraction of the size and power.
