Paul Bunyan is a giant lumberjack and folk hero in American and Canadian folklore. His exploits revolve around the tall tales of his superhuman labors, and he is customarily accompanied by Babe the Blue Ox.

The VFW is the abbreviation of Veterans of Foreign Wars. In our community, it’s a hall where veterans gather for food and fun and ceremonies. On the lawn in front of our VFW there is an army tank, so there’s no way you could miss it. 🇺🇸 I love watching your videos and learning about the foods and snacks from foreign countries as well as foods from different states here in America. Thank you for sharing.

Another cool thing about Minnesota. When the lakes freeze in the winter many communities will put a junk gutted car or one town a giant bobber on the ice. Then they do a raffle where you pick a day In spring and pay your bet. Whoever picks the day the car or bobber falls through the ice wins the pool of money. No worries they retrieve the cars as to not pollute.

The best thing about s'mores is at the end of a great outdoor family day, toasting marshmallows over a bonfire, watching the kids run around, smelling the wood burning and having a s'more. I really only eat 1 but then a couple extra toasted marshmallows!

27OCT22: Hot Dish is created from farm culture, when you need to clear out your fridge/freezer/ and or pantry... you throw everything together in a casserol and top most of them with tater tots. Usually pretty delicious! The Mississippi river is on a faultline. The earthquake, 1811 (5.0) caused the mighty river to flow bacwards, when it occurred.

Went to school in Iowa but did 4-H and all high school jobs and for the next 5 years after we're in Minnesota. Up till I got with my Husband. My favorite Minnesota treat growing up was Spring Grove Soda and everytime I visit family I brings some home. If you visit Minnesota area you should try some they have a bunch of different flavors.

Talking of earthquakes, I wonder if your mum was around when there was an earthquake on Merseyside. I worked for Radio City at the time, and I thought a lorry had hit the building, it's absolutely the weirdest feeling! Having the ground move under you is pretty frightening, I can't imagine how terrified people would be, who experience worse or longer durations!!

I grew up in Minnesota. When I was a freshman in college, I experienced my first earthquake - I was in the lounge area of the dorm playing cards when the whole building shook. The campus was full of very old buildings. People I knew who were in the newest building didn't even know we'd had an earthquake. It was a 4.1, so not huge. It was also so long ago, but I remember as though it were yesterday.
