We bought a set of Open Country AT IIIs for my wife's 2012 Pathfinder about a month ago. This car doesn't have the reputation of the 4runner, but it is about the same size and this was the last year of the frame on body R51 model. As a long-time Jeep owner, I am pleasantly surprised at the capabilities of this vehicle with these tires. We live near the large Pisgah National Forest is Western NC and have spent a lot of time on forest roads and little off-shoots that generally offer much more of a challenge. I know that you're a Toyota guy, but this Pathy is doing a great job on these AT IIIs.

Perfect timing, just as I'm considering a Rav4 for my wife when her lease is up next year. Great build! Question for you (and others) - how resilient is the glass on the light bar from rocks and things coming off the highway? Just can't help but think how vulnerable they are down low like that.
@amorton94

They all have hard-coated polycarbonate lenses, meaning there's little worry about breakage. If it were any kind of actual glass, they'd be shot in no time, especially here in Colorado. It's hard enough to get a windshield to last up here.

@@EM-iq9yj I have the Hybrid model and it's got the fuel tank issue. I'm not too concerned as I never do long distance driving too often therefore it isn't necessary to get the real driving range out of my car. I did some calculations, it's got 14.5 gal, and I drive 36.5 MPG (I live in elevation and mountainous roads), in theory I could drive 529.25 miles before empty, but every time it fills up like 480 miles, so I basically just have to fill a little more than a gallon and it's considered a full tank. I've only ever need to do that twice and it works out just fine. But for the daily commute I'm cheap af, I only keep my fuel tank 2/3 full to save weight therefore saving gas, I also take turns carpool with coworkers😂cheers!
