Panthers season ticket holder here. I went with my wife on Monday night to Game 7 and really felt that EDM was likely going to win. I had never seen them play before this series and was really impressed with their team speed. My wife and I talked about how we would react if Florida lost. I told her that I would stand up and congratulate and clap for EDM because they came back and would have beaten us four times and would have deserved the Cup. In the end, the Panthers played a great team game and were the better team that night. I have great respect for what EDM accomplished and how they fought back. Game 7 could have gone either way. I must also say that the EDM fans were gracious and courteous during the games and in defeat. One of them walked up to me and my wife, as we were wearing Panthers jerseys, and congratulated us. I don’t think many fans from other teams would have done that. Again, congratulations to EDM and their fans on a great season.

It was either Leon or Connor that said Stanley cup or bust. There was no bust this year. If anything, it was a learning experience. Look what the Panthers went through last year. Edmonton will be back very soon stronger than ever. Kris Knoblauch turned this team from the potential lottery picks to going to the Stanley Cup finals. 46-18-5 in not his first full season is truly incredible. Even though we are not hockey fans nor Edmontonians, we were impressed as we followed the Stanley Cup finals, when Oilers were down 3-0 battling back to force the seventh game. Unbelievable! Their indomitable spirit offered an important life's lessons in today's challenging world, to reflect on. Even though it did not have a fairy tale ending as they hoped for, nevertheless it was awe inspiring as the process of working towards the event (goal) is as important as the event. Glad to see these two brightening up a bit after the loss. I agree, knowing you can overcome any obstacle is the take away from this season. Have a bad start to the season, you can over come that. This group of players has now proven themselves, they just need another opportunity and they can get over that last hump. Reminds me of the oilers losing to the islanders the year before they won their first cup. Now they have seen what its like and know they can get there. Look out next season!

Been waiting since 1990 for another cup, was there through the 80s, even as a kid, we took the wins for granted, we were always winning, and then after 90 we have had 2 finals in those 34 years, so i say to the younger fans, really enjoy these moments and as for the Oilers. Im willing to say it right now. I feel the most valuable thing was obtained by the Oilers this year. Confidence, like they said, they played on the biggest stage in the biggest game you can ever have in a NHL playoff and they came up 1 short, I have listened to the interviews and im excited to see how that translates to next year, if there is a team that can do what the Panthers did its the Oilers, back to back final appearances.

The Edmonton Oilers learned a lot of things this year and a lot of things during their cup run. They learned that not giving up on each other and having each others back and staying focused on what is right in front of them is HUGE! In the playoffs they learned that strong defence wins championships - something that was missing in previous years. But they found how to play that game in this post season and came within a hairs breadth of bringing home a cup. The other thing they’ve learned is the importance of going for the jugular every night on the playoffs and never letting your foot of f the other guy’s neck. It’s tough to win from behind. I do t think they ever make that mistake again. They have the core elements needed to win a Stanley Cup and I know everyone on that team knows it. Yes there are some RAs and UFAs and they may be tempted to chase the $, and there’s nothing wrong with that - it’s a short career. But a lot of these guys are also in the twilight of their careers and they know that this team is destined to win at least one cup, maybe more. And with that core of player talent and the lessons they learned this year, they’re gonna be a damn tough team to beat next season and in next year’s playoff run. I think most of them will want to stick around for what is going to be the best chance they’ll ever have to win a Stanley Cup.Buckle up I say. The cup is coming home to Edmonton.

Get rid of Nurse first and foremost, trad drai for assets while he's still worth a bundle and build that depth - including spending more on goaltending. Canucks pay their backup more than oil pays for their starter. You want to end up like Toronto? Half your cap tied up with 4 guys and losing in the first round each time? There's absolutely no need for drai when you have McDavid. McDavid can make an old lady a 50 goal scorer.

Just came across a song by the Kings of Leon "Cold Desert" & it seems ALMOST appropiate as the team flys to Las Vegas. Yet I'm reminded that the real King is always faithful & remains inside, in front & beside to guide, provide encourage & protect even if we fall short or behind He will lift us up. Hold your heads up /Argent. Forever young/ByDylanRStewart St Elmos Fire John Parr.

Connor, you are on a level with Gretzky, Lemieux and Orr. Go on - get the Cup back to Canada!!! You will be back, stronger than before!!!

If Leon plays out his contract without signing he could be one of the best free agents in nhl history and all 32 teams would be in on him

I think you guys were amazing season you all, turn it around. The only think I wish they change was take Skinner, and put in Pickard in.

@@TheRealAT Sure, and watching Oilers pressers too? I don't hate the Flames or the Canucks, but I certainly don't watch their press conferences to find opportunities to make salty comments.

@@0v0824 when you’re a Canucks fan and the biggest star in the league is all over sports central talking about something directly related to your team you pay attention. I guess I’m just a bigger hockey fan than you are.

May as well keep the team in Edmonton this summer so McMuffin can get an earlier start on his captains skates to begin this years “cup or bust” tour lmfao. Leon’s lucky he’s getting out of there finally.

From a fan perspective. The losing teams always look at stats. I guess it's the only thing to fall back on, and the winners only care about the win. People, nobody remembers stats they remember winners 🏆 let's give the Florida Panthers the congratulations they deserve and move on. Your welcome 🙏

These guys will be back at some point and win it next time. Most teams lose their first try at a cup final.
