The greatest American marathoner. He’s a great person and athlete. Amazing to watch him overcome so many obstacles and rise to the top.

I always liked and respected him, but he seems less scripted and more grateful since his surgery. I was rooting for him today and he nailed it. I saw a post marathon interview and at least to me he looked teary. the right attitude and ethic met the right talent with this guy.

Unfortunately that's unlikely. I don't see anyone getting anywhere near Kipchoge and Bekele if they both commit to the Olympics. Then you have Legese and Geremew who both ran 2:02s last year, and another half dozen who ran under 2:04. To put that into perspective, Rupps best is a 2:06. Still hope he does well though, but the East Africans are looking as dominant as they've ever been

I’m jealous of the track and field coverage in the US. We have an Australian guy (Stewart McSweyn) who has run 3.31, 734, 13.05. However if you surveyed the sports commentators here, those who commentate on American basketball and English football, none of them will have heard of McSweyn.
