it is 106 outside here today and inside all that cardboard/recycling it gets wicked hot and just starts up. All it takes is the sun to reflect off some glass or metal.

I saw it coming from the DDs Discounts location on 51st Ave and Thomas. Coming home to the east valley. We thought it was on Van Buren Street so we took Buckeye RD. Big mistake, The Fire was closer to Buckeye RD then to Van Buren Street. Hope nobody was hurt! Praying for our Law Enforcement and Firefighters who answered the call. 😔🙏🏼

I was flying home from Phoenix, from a week vacation in Sedona on Saturday. Who would have thought that on my first time being in Arizona, I'd see a huge fire, tons of smoke and the largest response in the fire departments history... out the windows of the airport, and the plane. So crazy man. I've never seen anything like that.

It's not exact, but somewhere along the Salt River south of the 10. Somewhere between Buckeye and Broadway and 27th - 51st ave. I saw a news feed that said it was at Highland and 16th street which is near where I live and I'm like yeah that not right. Your right I did hear it was a recycling center, there area a bunch down there.

why is the water only hitting one end? after watching this video there are plenty of areas that could use water on them but i saw no units down the street even though there was plenty of room. maybe they figured the place was doomed anyway. my daughter and i drove from mesa to see what all the smoke was about but could only get so close as there was so much traffic.

This was not accidental and you can tell by looking at the evidence from seeing it in multiple spots on the property... The fact that it's under covered open buildings you can see that these fires were deliberately set in individual places at different time
