Re-watching this episode made me realize 1998 was the best year of my life. I was finishing up 7th grade about to go into 8th. That summer was some of the most fun I ever had. Hanging out friends, just walking around the neighborhood seeing what kind of harmless mischief we could get into. What a fun time to be alive.

The only downside is that had WCW not been impatient, they could have set an all time PPV buy rate for the Hogan/Goldberg match... Instead, to counter WWF pulling ahead in the ratings they gave it for free, yes winning the ratings war that week, but ultimately starting them down the path of of losing the war.

@Kurt Paulsen Im hindsight, yeah it would have been better to do it at a PPV & get a good number out of it, but they wanted to counter Raw because the Austin vs Kane match drew a huge TV rating. So the Goldberg & Hogan match being given away on TV was an answer to that.

@@rdrouynriv I still don't think he concussed Bret with that kick and even if he did, it wasn't what ended Bret's career. @@richspeck8932 He most definitely didn't wrestle for months. He had the match with Goldberg in December 1999 and had his last match weeks later in January. Also Bret's guranteed contract, still greatly deducted his pay due to him not wrestling and he eventually got released for it.

@@wonder-games3579 Not true. Watch his shoot interview about it. Plus he was in the NWO 2000. And still doing house shows. And he would have lost zero money for sitting out hurt. @@wonder-games3579 And even if I'm wrong about months, it's still quite stupid to continue wrestling for even one month when you know you have a concussion. He blames his stroke on Goldberg. Maybe it would never have happened if he didn't continue wrestling and took even a week off, but he didn't. That's on no one but him. And I'm a huge Bret Hart fan. I just don't think it's very professional, especially when you pride yourself on your professionalism, to publicly blame another professional every single chance you get for ending your career and giving you a stroke. Especially when he's pretty much the only guy I've ever heard talk that way about the guy. All anyone else ever says is he was a huge mark for himself. But if we're being honest so was Bret

To the person that suggested not using black face, you realize they were pretending to be black people right?!?!? It wasn't black face, it was imitation and it was hilarious. Get over your feelings being hurt, the WWF then had many black wrestlers under contract and they didn't play off any black stereotypes. It was a good promo and funny. People like you have ruined America.
