@@planescaped while I agree with everything you wrote, I also have to say that what Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Eric B. did with the NWO and turning Hogan heel was not only necessary to push wrestling to new heights but it was also was the most entertaining era wrestling has ever had(arguably).

@@dadman9799 It was Kevin Sullivan who managed to convince Hogan to turn heel. By many accounts, Bischoff is still taking credit for other people's work and successful ideas.

Apprantly Vince had major plans for him he loved his work in WCW and thought he would be the face of the company and be WWE (Well WWF) Champion Mick Foley mentioned in his book (and I think Stone Cold Steve Austin has also mentioned) that he was originally planned to be a major star. Mick said that they were showing multiple Mero T Shirt designs and Austin joking asked about his T Shirt and they told him he wasn't a big enough star to get one.

Yeah, I agree. I had forgotten how good he was in the ring until I saw some of these clips. I do think that the "Wild Thing" gimmick was horrible. Later on, he got the "Marvelous" gimmick, which was better, but he was never able to really break out.

Xavier. Hold on for a minute there were stories of wrestlers who was complaining about the jackknife power bombs in The outsiders age being very stiff I don't know is that because of the angle or because of the wrestlers themselves did not land right.

I will always remember the ending of the match between Marc Mero and Faarooq for the IC belt, because it was the very first time I’ve seen someone do the shooting star press and I couldn’t believe that wrestlers could do that, I was SO amazed. I’m still impressed every time I see someone do the move, I LOVE it 😃

Pretty sure Nitro won all but one point last week (or was it two weeks ago?). And the point Raw won was the unopposed hour. That point is alway a toss up, but given the quality of Raw that week, that point should’ve been recalled.

Marc Mero worked with Mr. Perfect to become a better wrestler and win the IC belt. I have a new found respect for the wild man. He always was a good wrestler, high energy and high flying moves. I'm a huge Mr. Perfect fan and I'm glad to see Curt helping the next generation become better. He was a damn fine individual, RIP Curt.

Scott Hall - "Go with it, the soundtrack from your favourite adult movie" This is where the "NWO Theme is music from a porno" rumour started with internet marks in the late 90s. I remember my friends older brother (Massive internet mark nerd) back then telling us it was from a porno, but he could never find exactly which one. Of course now the rumour has been put to rest. Its just a theme of multiple Jimmy Hendrix riffs from a few of his songs.

I think the unopposed hour point system is perfect. Back in the day that hour would usually determine if I was switching over to RAW or staying on Nitro. You are completely on point with your approach there.

I remember watching Raw live and taping Nitro to watch the next day. That JR promo was the best and that first big NWO take over was classic. This is definitely my favorite era of wrestling.

I read that fake Razor and Diesel was actually introduced to support their court case against WCW. By showing they still used those characters, it made their case stronger against Hall and Nash using the mannerisms from those WWF characters. Makes sense when you think about it.

The unopposed point thing makes perfect sense to me, there were plenty of nights I watched the first hour of Nitro then switched over to Raw at 9 and never switched back.
