Every time I listen to his renditions I hear things I never noticed before. Brilliant, complex to the extreme. His original tunes are especially full of surprises.

hate to disagree but I think he mutilates this smooth understated sexy ballad In my opinion his approach is all wrong

I'm glad to disagree. At what point does he mutilate he the song? At 1 minute or 2 minutes or 3 to 6 minutes? RB's rendition is cool strong and edgy. I get Girl Talk is a soft jazz song. I like Oscar Peterson's version and of course Julie London's version is the ultimate. RB hit a homer.

In my opinion he mutilates a smooth seductive sophisticated understated jazz piece and turns it into a heavy handed hard blues exercise His approach is closer to Watermelon Man than Girl Talk
