Imagine being able to charge ur credit card and whenever u want to borrow more debt you simply raise ur credit limit to what you desire with no true intentions of paying it back 😂. Exceptional content! This video presents a comprehensive analysis of the economic crisis, guided by an insightful breakdown of key points in a clear and structured manner. The discussion of economic cycles, the bursting of US bubbles, the current American stagflation, and the US position on the long-term cycle provides a solid foundation for understanding the complexity of the situation. Further exploration of Ray's thoughts on this recession, the biggest problem facing the US, and his predictions for the stock market adds depth and relevance to the conversation, making this video an indispensable resource for anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the current economic landscape. I am genuinely appreciative of the time and effort put into creating this thought-provoking and educational video. Keep up the fantastic work, and thank you for empowering viewers with the knowledge and insights necessary to navigate these challenging economic times!

$104 billion drop in bank loans in just 2 weeks. If this keeps up, that’s $2700 billion drop in a year. In 2022 the GDP was $23 trillion. A $2.7 trillion drop is 12% reduction in GDP. That’s not a mild recession

Indeed is interesting, what i am concerned is some of the nature of AI, if you notice the light is on people like Elon Musk, Bill Gates and such, who have predicted that in 10 to 20 years Artificial Intelligence (AI) will potentially take 49% of jobs, they also use the double speak term when it comes to "what will people do?" With the term Universal Basic Income (UBI) what I believe is that people will lean on side hustle and small business to make ends meet, this will be a period of de-globalization, people who makes $250,000 or less or live in communities where people make less than that, will relay on side jobs

The one factor ignored is that we doubled the debt from $16 trillion to $32 trillion in 12 months. The impact of this may linger for longer than we think. This huge stimulus may forestall the downturn for quite a while. Just sayin. IF YOU GAVE A HOMELSS GUY A MILLION, AFTER IT WAS GONE H4 WOULD STILL BE ABLE TO SELL OFF THE STUFF THAT HE BOUGHT LIKE CARS, GUNS, TOOLS, ETC. The huge impact of doubling the debt may be underestimated by most. Or, Ray could be dead on, after all, this is what he does for a living...run a hedge fund.

Because we always have to at least pay back the interest due on the debt every year from the federal budget (i.e. the return to US debt bond holders when their bonds mature) and these interest payments suck more and more money out of the federal budget the bigger the debt gets, and this has to be paid with real money not more borrowed money. I know you were being sarcastic but to explain a bit to the average reader…

4:53 - There are very good evidence that the high level of inflation you see coupled with a weakening / contracting economy has to do with less commodities going around overall, ie supply vs demand and right now there are less supplies. Less oil (due to Russia sanctions and OPEC drilling less oil) means everything gets more expensive, because oil is used for everything. From food production to getting that food made and to market (tractors, trucks, all run on oil). Also, all the money that were just given to people during covid means a lot of money is flowing around. So, plenty of money with very little to buy with result in inflation. You can say with higher interest rates they were trying to bring down demand, but supply is falling even faster than the demand and there are only so much demand that will drop. People need to eat for example. So high fertilizer prices (also due to sanctions on Russia) will mean higher food prices. So, think of it this way; there was once a country that provided lots of raw materials to the world for very cheap and it now vanished (for Western markets anyway).

Economists including Ray Dalio do not have any new ideas. They basically keep repeating the same old stories based on the same old economic models. To me, one of the most stunning things I learned about modern economies is that money is created out of thin air when someone takes out a loan and goes into debt. I was well into my forties when I learned this about modern money. At first I did not believe it and it is certainly not what I was taught about money in my younger days. The money is created by entering numbers into the borrower’s account when the borrower takes out the loan. As the loan is paid back, the money that was created for the loan is eliminated and no longer exists, but the bank or financial institution that created the money gets to keep the interest that was paid. So, the more debt there is, the more money there is and the more interest that is paid to the bank. Modern money is mostly about getting governments, corporations, businesses and people into debt and there is also quite a bit of smoke and mirrors involved. On the international level, debt has been used as a tool to gain power and influence over other countries for centuries. In the past century, the US perfected this technique. In the 21st century, China and some other countries have also learned this trick. The idea is to keep the borrowers continuously in debt so they can continuously keep paying interest to the “lenders”. The joke is that the money given out for the loans that make up this debt does not exist. It is basically a “fake loan” and to make the joke even better, to get a loan like this, most of us including governments of other countries have to put up some collateral, so if you default, they can take ownership of your collateral. So basically, they get whatever collateral you put up for free and with no risk since the money they “lent” you did not exist. Supposedly, this has been determined to be a legitimate way to do business! This is how the US has been able to be the dominant player in the world economy but is now being challenged. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) represents the size of the economy which is the amount of money the economy is worth. When the economy is continuously growing, the GDP is also continually growing. Similar to any addiction, more and more borrowing is needed to have the same effect on economic growth. When the government debt starts to become greater than the value of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), technically it will no longer be possible to pay back the government debt. If it continues, the buying power of money will start to be significantly reduced and if the government debt starts to become several more times higher than the GDP, the money and financial systems will probably collapse. If this happens, the system is reset and the cycle is repeated. During the run up there will be some good times but, after the reset, times will probably not be good and war is also a possibility. This cycle has been repeated continuously throughout history from the Chinese Dynasties to the Roman Empire to Germany after World War One and to Argentina, Venezuela and to many African and Asian nations in the 21st century. If the American Empire can avoid this cycle, they would be the first. The thinking that the economy always has to grow for there to be innovation, progress and prosperity may now be a problem on a finite planet with limited resources and the focus needs to be on sustainability not on growth! The idea and thinking that the economy always has to grow for a nation to progress and to be successful may be the problem. Presently if the economy is not growing, it is considered a failure. This type of thinking cannot go on uninterrupted on a finite planet with finite resources. There needs to be flexibility in the system for the economy to expand and contract and for a contraction to be considered normal and not a problem or a failure. The contraction needs to be just as prosperous and productive as the expansion. For this type of thinking to work, there needs to be some new economic theories and models developed along with some new types of money and financial systems based on economic sustainability not on economic growth and money inflation. I am sure there will be some Nobel prizes awarded to the academics, economists, capitalists, corporate CEO's and business leaders and of course politicians and government officials that can figure out how to make a sustainable economy work and how not to devalue the nation’s money in the process. The way we can begin to do this and improve peace and fairness at the same time is when our business and government leaders along with our brightest and smartest among us can learn to be much more truthful, honest and trustworthy and can start to understand that the wellbeing of others benefits everyone.

I have a brilliant idea to make money. Produce goods to sell. If you can’t produce goods you can’t make money, it’s as simple as that. You have to bring back manufacturing. This would enable us to spend less and make more profits. It’s simple as that. Why do you think China went from a third world country to a super power? It’s because they produce. Why do you think China holds half our debt almost 15 trillion dollars? Manufacturing and production!!!!

The very important point is that not only is the rest of the world not interested in buying US debt, but the rest of the world has been net sellers for the past 2 years. So, the Fed has been buying government bonds and printing money. This is why inflation has been difficult, the Fed tightens but the government spends and this creates more money, thus keeping inflation going. This is unsustainable for a reserve currency. And as more people find alternatives to the dollar such as the yuan or other alternatives, the flight from the dollar will accelerate and this will bring more inflation back to the US. In the internet age when the end of the dollar occurs, it will happen quickly.

According to some experts, the United States and other regions of Europe may have a recession in 2023. Because China and emerging countries frequently grow faster than more developed economies, a global recession, which is defined as a decline in annual global per capita GDP, is more uncommon. Fundamentally, if economic growth lags behind population growth, the global economy is said to be in a recession.
