Totally aside from Ray's amazing musical career, he absolutely could have had a successful career as a broadcaster. It's not just his amazing voice but his fascinating persona. He has the magical ability to be fascinating when speaking on just about any subject. And he retained his skills until he died, that's also rare. What a huge loss.

When I first heard Light My Fire in 1967 I gave away all my Beatles albums. I did not want to listen to children anymore. From then on it was: The Doors Strange Days Waiting For The Sun…..and so on until LA Woman.

all i'm sayin' was the doors were the band that mixes rock n' roll,blues,jazz,classical,folk along with literature/poetry as far as i'm concern.along with the beatles,who,zeppelin they push the boundaries,challenging conventions definitely changing the world.their music will live on eternally.r.i.p. jim morrison and ray manzarek.

These concerts he's talking about are all awesome. Give them a listen if you haven't. Even the Miami show is great. It's an absolute Cluster F****, and Jim sang terrible, but a work of art. Confusion in it's happiest form.

I,m mystified with Ray .Its such." black and white " with Ray .... I,m sure that if he hadnt been with the Doors he would have made a great CEO .. but also he has a brilliant artistic bias in his DNA ..They deffinately wouldnt have survived without each other .An eclectic combo that encapsulated the times ..I wish I could have seen them live ..The greatest band of all time ! .

I saw the Doors once in 1970 at Madison Square garden felt forum and then in 1971 doing other faces at Carnegie hall , pretty good pretty good pretty neat pretty neat.
