Wonderful interview. Ray’s articulate and thoughtful and appears to have his wits about him. There was nobody tougher than Ray Mercer.

There's an old saying that you can't beat a punching bag. Not to say Ray was a punching bag but I don't think Tyson could have stopped him so yes I think you may be right.

no matter how good this guy was whenever i see his fight against Tommy, where this guy was the champion, the way he hit him while he was against the rope, makes him look like a cheap shot. With experience comes grace but this guy had too much ego for a challenge.

@6:15- Bert Cooper was kind of a poor man's Mike Tyson. If he was on, he could be a rough customer. I remember when he took on Holyfield for the title on like 2 weeks notice. Caught Holyfield with that quick right hand...

Ray has bad luck with illness / injury at crucial times. And , like he said , he should have taken training more seriously at the time . Even so he still is , and always will be , remembered as a Legend .! Good to see he hasn't suffered any serious damage !!

I think he could have beaten Tyson! Simply because he was a good boxer! Tyson had troubles with the really good boxers, such Holyfield and Lennox. Mercer gave both of those guys hell, but lost the decision. I think he was robbed in the Lennox fight.

Glad that boxing haven't cause a lot of damage to him like it did to ali. Yes the ref should've jumped in earlier in the Morrison fight. It was a brutal ko and permanent damage was probably done.

sorry Ray i was enjoying watching this until you once again put all the blame on the ref for the tommy morrison fight - you had a look at the ref and could have stopped but chose to keep hitting him when he was now out on his feet - i agree that you were a good fighter but i also think you struggled to draw the line on how to control yourself when an opponent was clearly defeated - history i think will be unkind to you unless you take some responsibility
