That's crazy impressive. One thing that isn't clear to me is why he treats 350lbs like it's a 1RM PR attempt. Wouldn't you expect a guy who squats 1000 to be able to bounce up from 350 like it's nothing? Instead it looks like it's really challenging for him, taking several deep breaths before.

William Rachello by treating every rep/weight like your max you gain consistency.

I think it would help the sport immensely if they marked on the athletes where they are measuring depth from. Far to often it looks like the athletes don't meet the prescribed depth yet are given white lights. Is it the crease of the hip? None of these squats appear to meet that standard.

Clayton Cunningham All of his squats besides the warm-up were below parallel.
@claytoncunningham8770

Really? From our vantage point none were objectively below parallel. There in lies the problem. The sport would do well to develop a system that objectively shows they hit depth, at least for the elite levels.

Clayton Cunningham judging a super heavy weight isn't as easy as judging a leaner guy so the whole hip crease is kind of a chit standard tbh, I'd probably wait for that transition you see when the weight is like shifted off the quads and has transitioned to the hips
@Matt-be6ey

Clayton Cunningham Like you said from our angle they don't appear below parallel, but from the side they probably dude. And when he gets to the super heavy weight, you can tell he's obviously hitting depth from any angle.

They all were high, the only thing that went below parallel were his hamstrings. Even with the purposefully shitty camera angle you can see he had an inch or two to go. But hey if this is what the IPF wants to be know for, good for them.

Help me out here, guys. The overhead screen looks like it reads "425 kg," but there are sixteen 25 kg plates, two 20 kg plates, and the bar on his back (~1015 lb), and the video description says his second lift was "470 kg" (1035 lb). Which is it?

Chris Thomas , Ah, okay. I didn't see the 2.5's and wasn't sure what the collars weigh. What the standard bar weight in IPF? Is it 20 kg?
