What everyone who may think differently about Mr Ackerman have to get into into their thinking is that he was a nobody who started a small business and created that big supermarket chain we have today. Learn from this great businessman who made it possible for so many to have jobs today and even many who own businesses. RIP MR Ackerman.

My heart felt sympathy to the whole Ackerman family. I remember Mr Ackerman so well having had the task of looking after his office furniture for many years, And what struck me was the time he took to write me a letter thanking me for always making sure that his office chair was perfect. I remember doing Financial Services in Claremont many years ago and Mr Ackerman who knew my father well always asked me how my dad was. I also remember well the time that I asked mr Ackerman what the formula was and he smiled as only he could and commented 10% finance and 90% brains. I had the privelage of working with both Harry Goldin who in fact started Pick n Pay and Mr Ackerman and he leaves a massive legacy. Glen Kruger CEO CHAIRMANS SA
