That's awesome. Such a great memory to reminiscence, some of the guys in this band eventually made a name for themselves in more popular bands, like Pantera or Crowbar. Your mum has helluva treasure trove of recollections from the 1980s I bet!

Thank God for Pantera. I can’t think of many folks who loved the hair metal glam stuff. Dio trashed it. Slayer intentionally used all their satanic themes to stand in contrast to it. Pantera came along and bent the metal back in a good direction. It’s impossible to listen to a song like “The Underground in America” and not hear how Pantera played a role in shaping modern metal.
@Bravilor

That hair glam stuff that was popular in the late 80s didn't really stand the test of time, even with the bands who played it. But before, and partially at the same time, and afterwards, there was and is an enormous body of classic heavy metal - an endless gift that keeps on giving. It had a recess from around 1987-2000 but is alive and well again, and personally it has provided me with sustenance in such abundance that I never felt any need for metal to be modernized.

No such thing. Stop bringing race into everything. No such thing except on the media and in the minds of real racists. Jesus is Lord.
