Chris Selph's brilliant design for a fast three point airscrew hydro.
I'm not sure if they are still available but from his plans I made two significant changes.
I had to add Carbon to the plywood, I simply could not get hold of quality flat 1/4" Birch ply in the UK, so used 6mm gaboon with woven glass on one side and CF on the other. This gave me the stiffness and a thickness close to the desired 1/4".
Moving the radio gear to the stern helped with balance, as the added weight of my laminated material plus the paint meant what should be a light build had to have some weight shift to balance it out.
As I prefer all decor is paint, no stickers, and most of the hardware was self made.
Engine is a simple SC60 10cc sport type ABC two stroke sound runner. I achieved 48 mph with a hooked turn fin on for our small lake.
There's other vids of this boat on my channel.
It's a long old thing to watch, some music added this time though as my last slide show vid was deafeningly silent :-)
I hope you like it.
