Super dope Razzy, thank you for all the badassness you share with us! This is how I was at first when my k8s exb was built with about 3500.00 into it. and I messed up and didn't set my breaks on my xlx2 and literally almost went out into traffic and got ran over luckily I double reversed trigger and threw it into reverse and escaped tragedy.... This truck seemed a little to big for the spot you were in but your lesson is learned and I know castle has your back because I told them in the phone that I went to castle because of you. Cheers bro and congratulations on the three babies 🤣

My god I started a setup on a 1/10 scale redcat 6/8 months ago but didn’t have the matching motors/ESC’s but so I did a mock up using the outdrive diff. cups and then went to my Hobbie shop to buy the smallest dog bones then I gave up, but u inspired me to start from scratch. Thanks for the inspiration u didn’t know u gave lots of RC Enthusiast.

I'm guessing you highly understand estimated the amount of stress and force on them motors and drivetrain and you throttled up hard and it sucked up insane amps because of the rotating mass of the 1/5th scale drivetrain and tires and the fact it's direct drive then you need to stop and can't because the motor braking wasn't even close to enough to stop all that mass at speed of any kind. You need very strong disc brakes and I don't recall seeing any. Motors and all ejected because them heavy batteries were only velcroed down and when they went because you use big connectors, big wires and small screws everything went with them.

I'm not sure if it was over confidence Raz. You did however pick the one spot where the curbing had disappeared, so you are very precise at least. I'm hoping you rebuild, because that car was a piece of artwork. And Ive always had a soft spot for the 5ive. Especially with the Mini body on it. Please pick up the pieces and try again.

The moment you mentioned the crash I thought about the tire's ballooning from your last offroad monster. And seeing them balloon in that first clip, yeah. expensive lesson. For those speeds, on road, belted is the way. Hell even on my e-revo 2.0, belted vs stock felt like a massive upgrade when driving on flat surfaces.
@O.L.D_RC

Raz, I feel your pain. Not nearly as expensive, but I built a 1/10 road car to see how fast I could get it. I am not sure, because the first run ended in the car disintegrating. It was as simple as a center reflector in the road that I hit almost center chassis. The reflector was decimated, but the car was a total loss. There were a good many parts that were never even located. I put quite a few hours in it. Gutted for mine and yours both.

Tough luck on the crash sir. fifth scale vehicles can be a handful to slow down, so much momentum. cant wait to to see how you repair it! for another onroad project, I highly recommend you look into the MCD XR5/XS5 platform. as an owner of both a losi and an MCD I can promise you its a platform like no other. plenty of space on the chassis to do upgrades, massive engineering in the platform as well. I know if you build an MCD it will be like no other. good luck!

Trailer park math here... 11 Ah batteries rated for 100C... that means a max Amperage of 1,100, and at 15V (give or take, depending on charge level), that's about 16k Watts per battery. Now, 25 horse power is 18k watts... so yeah, that's an INSANE amount of power going through such small motors. At first glance, i thought it was total rubbish, but wow... 50HP in an r/c car is just nutso!!! ty for the vid. Sorry about the crash! I flew r/c helos for many years. I know the feel.

I built a brushless nikko dictator with a bunch of custom upgrades, specifically targeting the Traxxas Slash for performance. the On a 3S speed run, I was trying to get 1 more mph which required running it through a narrow part of the parking lot. It hit a bump and hit a concrete curb at 45 degrees, probably around 40 mph. The heartbreaking part was 35 year old chassis and transmission pieces were destroyed and could not be replaced without a parts car. I did get it back on the road. It’s my favorite rc car out of the 50 or so in my collection.

Inspires me to finally make an electric conversion for my old 1/8 Jammin' X1. I'll probably just do a slipper clutch for the center, motor on the side of the servo with the esc behind it and have the other side for a beefy battery. Even if it ends up like this one It's worth doing because it just sits as it is. I've been done with nitro for years

I love your videos and definitely feel your pain brother! I bet it crashed because you did not run a spool or 2 Million weight oil in the Diffs with belted tires. These are a MUST. Without more-locked diffs the tire without traction will just spin 2x faster, and expand as you can see from the before crash clips and "traction steer" the car. I have been down this road MANY times. Not for bragging but to prove experience, I have 3 Electric 5ives, and all are center spool and 2M wt diff oil (spools make it under-steer in the corners) by necessity, learned the hard way. Anything above 70 mph you will blow out non belted tires if you are off road at all. Honestly, that's not a bad crash at all, it looks like you had 3 problems that came together... 1. You relocated the front diff support, the stock one has 2 bolts, I have sheared these bolts a bunch of times, until you make something super strong, a bumper impact will break the diff cases every time, even in a CNC aluminum diff housing, this needs sorted out first. 2. For that 2 motor setup you located the battery and ESC's to the perimeter of the chassis. I'd make a plate that goes above the motors that ties into the front Diff support, and mounts the ESC's above it as well. There is a TON of room under the cage of the 5ive T, and it would put the ESC's in fresh cool air. I run similar to this in a 5ive B body with no issues. 3. 3D print motor cradles that bolt through the chassis and can use large Zip ties to hold the motor to the mount to take the strain off of them during impacts. A few other electric 5ive tips, run the batteries ans ESC's exactly opposite of each other, and as close to center of gravity as possible to balance the 30lbs this weighs, will make a night and day difference when you start jumping it. I regularly clear 150' with no problem or breakage, and bash HARD. I honestly believe these 5ives are the toughest RC cars on the planet.
