There is one thing I forgot to mention in this video. In each case, for RC >>> T, the output will stablize (or steady state value of output) at Vi/2 (5/2=2.5V in this case) The reason is that in each case, Speed of Capacitor charging is getting reduced, and capacitor discharging is getting increased per cycle. That's why output will stablize at Vi/2 with some ripple. You can also understand it by the concept of Fourier series.

So, you are saying at some point both charging and discharging rates become same and output will stabilize?

Could you give a hint on how we can use the Fourier Series for analysing the circuit?

@@prabhjotsingh5916 Actually if you look keenly in the ckt exactly what is happening like when Vin is 5V then capacitor will be charging but in each cycle because of initial voltage acquired by the capacitor that's why current is decreasing hence charging rate will decrease and when Vin is 0V that means Vin is grounded then only capacitor will behave as source to the Resistance so Capacitor will discharge through R but in each cycle because of initially charged up in the Vin =5V case and in Vin=0V case the current flowing through the ckt is increasing in each cylce so this will continue and in steady state something id increasing and something is decreasing so it will come up at middle position that is Vin/2 i.e. 5/2=2.5 V.

thanks, himanshu for posting ! I am an embedded design engineer, I did masters in electronics 5 years ago... still enjoying RC circuits... I used to calculate the sums given in network analysis by van vekenburg and pulse digital waveform by millman....
