Awesome, the thing I love about 1/48 scale is that you can put Lego guys on em and it wouldn't look bad, a liiiiittle small, but still it's just perfect

Around 1980, my dad knew I liked R/C boats so he bought me an R/C set for the Lindberg PT-109 I was building. After finally finishing the model I took it out to the Pacific Ocean (since wes're 5 miles away) into Oxnard harbor where I figured it was safe. The model worked fine for about a minute, then it wouldn't obey the signals from the Tx and started off on its own heading out to sea! Naturally I panicked, quickly trying everything I could think of, finally the model responded to the signal again and I steered it back. As soon as it was in reach I promptly grabbed the model from the water, clutching my prize into the back seat of the car and got out of there. Never sailed the PT109 in the ocean again lol

Cool subs curious as to how deep they can go. Signal depredation or depth pressure?

Do you like how this sub opens up or do you prefer how they normally do with just the top of the deck coming off?

In the WTC, I see it uses a single motor split into 2 shaft. Do both shafts move the opposite way. Meaning one clockwise and one counter clockwise?

Hi Bob I'm wondering if you've ever come across or seen the 1/ 72 'nd scale IJN I - 53 by Lindbergh models . I've been doing a lot of remodeling on just the deck alone . 1 . Mane hatches are way too big and too many . 2 . I'm not there yet but I'm going remodeling and scratch building the correct passage tubing from deck to bottom hatch of the 5 Kaitens . Self quarantine what self quarantine ??? The model as mentioned above is 1 : 72'nd and about 5 ft in length . Same scale as the 3 type 7 c 's , 1 of the type 7's is a 7 c / 41 all type 7's are about 2 ft . The 4'th German sub's is a type 9 c / 40 . The type 9 c / 40 is about 3 ft . And finally my 2 USN Gato class Fleet Sub's are about 4 ft I'm trying to locate an extra set of 20 mm bofors gun and a 5 in deck gun , to turn on of the Gato's into a gun ship . Squadron Publications reference . I'm wondering what size of mss to get for each sub and running gear ???? I forgot to ask you . Do you have a how to DVD w/ step by step instructions . That would be a great help .

The I53 was a tragedy of poor research on behalf of Lindberg. The biggest issue was the bow, which is horribly misshapen. That boat would fit our 250/375/250 MSD SubDriver nicely, I believe. It's a great size and a wonderful subject, but for those who are afflicted with the need for authenticity, it takes a lot to get looking right.

@@RCSubGuy Actually I'm having trouble with the aft section 1 : the mane rudders base has no support and 2 : the mane drive shafts do not give any clearance inside the hull . Also according to my book of I J N subs It looks like the guy combined two types / classes of subs .
