Thoroughly beaten. Doesn't affect our premiership credentials imo but I didn't think a team could get a hold us like that anymore. I don't buy into not turning up. We just got beaten. Good review Bucky.

Felt just like the Sydney game. Came firing out the gates, Weitering copped a corky, our defense fell apart, and at the same time we get overrun through speed in the midfield. The difference was that we fought back and kept our noses in it, which we can view as a slight positive. Charlie's worst game in a long time (I really think Jack Martin will help him), Weitering hurt, and we lose by 2 goals. Could have been much worse. All that said, it means nothing if we don't come back next week and prove that it was just a one off. Gotta lock away this top 2 spot

Good to see you're on the mend Bucky. I still think we can't afford to lose more than one more game if we want to finish top 2. Individual awards may be a side issue for Cripps, but it pisses me off that he's the only one to rise to the occasion.

I understand that we are still sitting pretty in 2nd and all but in isolation that was really disappointing, not even because we lost, more that we gave away a 75 point turnaround, which just shouldn’t happen for a team at the level of ours. The only way gws were going to win this game was if their incredible coach pulled out something special from his arsenal and that is exactly what he did. Not only did he completely take our game away from us after QT but he also torched us going back the other way from stoppages. The inclusions of Darcy jones and the debutant fonti (who was in for the injured ash) were exceptional. Both were so composed and really clean in motion. Also what an important player Isaac cumming is for them. Just does everything so well and it was only his 2nd game for the year. As for us having owies sub and Cottrell straight in was a big failure. And poor kemp on hogan was a disgraceful decision (weitering was on riccardi even before the Corkie), and the lack of support given to kemp from our defenders was frustrating. Kemp is a 3rd not a KPD. So definitely not the end of the world but in isolation I really thought we were past the manner of that type of defeat. We have been ridiculously lucky to have Sam Taylor miss the past 3 games against us and yet we’ve lost 2/3. And then Kelly and ash, I really thought our superior squad would prove too much but Kingsley had other ideas. I said back in round 6 that cadman and aleer needed more pre-seasons to fill into their bodies and you saw that again. 3 of McKay’s 5 were due to aleer not being tight enough or just losing his bearings. It was telling that Kingsley subbed off aleer because he is that much of liability at the present time, but with Taylor out these are the cards he has been dealt. He either sticks with him or he has to structurally change the makeup of his backline. A very common phrase and honest confession you hear in any sport is that “we got beat by a better team or better players”, and I just think we got beat by a better coach. For example you can’t blame say a Jake riccardi for not being as good as Curnow. Likewise, you can’t blame voss for not being as good as Kingsley. How is he supposed to be superior to someone who’s been an assistant coach for double the amount of years he has, worked at 3 different clubs under a variety of different coaches and worked on every single line of the field? Sometimes you just have to put your hands up and appreciate the work of others. When kinglsey is no longer a coach he should run coaching lectures, as his tactical and strategical expertise is just superb, and you would learn so much from him .

Great review Bucks. I think every Blues fan thought 'No' when Jones kicked that goal to end 1st quarter - momentum! Not worried about loss but perplexed by Voss not swinging Charlie back. We needed steadier and Charlie needed to get involved. It was like Vossy was kicking him up the arse and saying 'work it out yourself '. We all love Charlie but some of his efforts looked poor. He wasn't alone with workrate though. Go Blues 💙

A pretty good contest between two talented line-ups that had strong momentum for long periods of the game. Blues did their homework for the start of the game and jumped the Mandarin Goliaths and they did their own homework and stuck to it producing some fantastic football in the middle parts of this game. The Giants focused on negating our strengths which is contested ball, midfield depth and our defensive structures. How do you do that? Well you start with pressure, tackling and winning contested ball. Forward inside 50 tackle count was 26/4 Giants favour. Not only does that lock the ball inside the Giants forward half for longer, it puts pressure on our run and set up from our defensive half - so important in today's game. Giants overall won the contested ball and tackle count - areas Voss and the players have focused on over the past 18 months. I was hoping the team would get challenged and have their structures tested before the important stuff starts in finals and we certainly got that. The coaches and players will be reviewing this game with a magnifying glass and a fine tooth nit comb and then moving on to the game against the Poodles at Spiderman Oval. Very pleased with the 1st and 4th quarters, where we got 13 of our 16 goals for the night (Very baron in between when the Giants had momentum and were largely in control)

I wouldn't say I was crushed, but a 70 odd point turn around really concerns me. It was similar to the Brisbane final last season, which has me worried whether we've learned anything or if we're still susceptible to being beaten in this manner by any of the teams with the right list to affect that style of game plan for long enough. Regardless of what Terry and Pommy seem to think (that we don't need pace), I still consider that we lack a couple of players with real acceleration around the ball. Doc is really the only one I can think of who has a bit of legitimate burst about him, but he's obviously not available. Anyway, no panic but I'd like to see a really solid performance against the Dogs this weekend and I'm sure they'll come out fighting as they were fucking embarrassed at Adelaide and their season could really start to slip away if they lose this next game to us.

Somwone needs to call out a couple of our so called superstars. I'm glad you've touched on a them lightly here but I'll be more blunt. Weitering and charlie have major flaws- Weitering for being an attention seeking sook. He has a pattern of doing this now. He wasnt hurt. Its a corkie ffs. He really let us and especially Kemp and the rest of the defence down. Charlie Curnow is a front runner. He is selfish. His finals series was horrific and almost every time things arent going his way he literally gives up. He has a disgusting attitude at times. Needs a kick up the arse. These guys need to hear this feedback because i recon all they receive is smoke which is blown up their arses. Also walsh has been tagged twice this year and has been rendered useless. Needs to learn how to contribute when he gets the tag. Expect more of it now

Ай бұрын
@@buckleupbuckeroo Righto, here we go. Do you know what causes a corkie, knucklehead? Clearly you aren't very clever so I'll spell it out as if for a 2 year old. A corkie is the result of internal bleeding caused by ruptured blood vessels in the thigh muscle. A bad one results in a LOT of bleeding, which takes time to fully heal, certainly much longer than a week. If a player keeps getting knocked in the same thigh over and over, I'd say the chances statistically of getting one every week are a hundred percent. You could easily have Googled this for yourself, but nope, you had to come back and make yourself look like even more of a gormless twit than your first post did.
