And these types of comments make "bad ponys". (And ponys are horses, they are just smaller, henceforth i will refure to them as horses) The sad thing is that these horses are small, so people can force them to do thing they otherwise wouldn't. To carry a rider that is to big for them, causeing them pain in their backs. Horses dont comunicate that they are in pain. Its instinctive, they cant help it. Horses limp, but thats only for leg injurys. Horses cant communicate that they are hurting in their spine, neck, hips or shoulder. From training my own mini horse to drive it frustrates me how many people and their kids want to ride my horse. She only weighs 350 poinds, yet they bring their 100 pound kids over and try to shove them on like its no big deal. She has a weak spine already with a sore spot. She has a bulldog chest and royally f@cked legs and hips. Ive pushed many kids off my horse. I also dont leave any halter or collar on. They cant bully a horse they can keep ahold of.

nobody always meets any distance to the jump. Sometimes you think you can do it and in retrospect you ask yourself, just like you, why you did it, and it could have worked if she had kept her pony more attentive to her, but at the moment she didn't have it, which she was too late realized that the pony understood too late what she wanted from him.

Some terrible riders in here, especially the older riders on the smaller ponies, see-sawing on their mouths, hauling them about, jagging them in the mouth and sending them the wrong way. No wonder they bucked, refused and simply had fences down because they couldn't even SEE them! The better riders were more in harmony and let their ponies gallop. Very disappointing with the standard of riding overall.

We are all saying the same thing - having ponies that you can't point and shoot at almost anything can result in lazy (and selfish) riding. The best round of the was probably ridden by the youngest child here. And there was only one grey pony who was not strapped down so they could move their head. Unpleasant to watch the rest.

@FH-ys8st

This will not be a hate, but an explanation, horses and ponies cannot look straight ahead because their perspective does not allow it. So you never really look straight ahead, but always slightly down, which is why many ponies and horses at the show lift their heads so far to really see everything from the jumps. but it depends on the horse / pony, some don't either.

One thing I know, a barn that does mostly jumping will not teach equitation. No ground work, no dressage techniques, so all they know is yanking and pulling.
@FH-ys8st

However, these ponies have a lot of power and will to jump, they want to jump over it and in some moments the riders just have to pull the reins because otherwise it can be dangerous for pony and rider. And no, I'm trying not to defend the pull on the reins, but to explain it. because yes it is not nice for the ponies, but it could also be extremely dangerous for riders and ponies if they run uncontrollably fast on the jumps!

@@christiannedebiasi381 i live in germany and with us dressage is ridden in pure jumping stables but only in training and not in competitions. because dressage riding is the basic requirement for show jumping is taught to us!
