I quit narcotics, I quit smoking, I quit drinking, I quit adult videos, and I quit video games. I now zone out to KZitem for 11 hours a day and just like bobby said, I've stopped doing things that cause trouble in my life but I've addressed nothing so I'm still unhappy the moment i run out of things to watch that will adequately steal my attention. I started drinking again because insomnia is horrendous, and i need to pass out before i get too sad x

I know the feeling… I’m not sure what your story is, but i want to tell you that you aren’t alone my friend. I’ve dealt with some of the same struggles as you. I’m sure your situation isn’t the same as mine, but i would bet you deal with loss, feeling incapable/inadequate, feeling like you’ve tried everything you could to “get better”, and feeling like it’s all hopeless… again i’ve felt these same feelings, and had these same thoughts myself… here’s what helped me (and still helping me to this day). 1. Attempt to reconnect with people from your past… they may not respond. They might be upset with you… but i’m sure someone will be grateful to hear from you… i myself just reconnected with a friend that i hadn’t talked to in 6 years… i thought i ruined everything with this person… i reached out, and he was so filled with love for me… it was like those six years of silence, fear, doubting, anger, self pity were for nothing… 2. Gratitude. Find things you can be grateful for. It could be as simple as having running water… something that some people could only dream of. 3. Get out in nature. Me and the friend from part 1 went fishing at a state park… it was so beautiful i couldn’t help but feel so small and insignificant (in a good way) like all of my problems shrunk down to the size of an atom. 4. Take time to reflect. For instance i stopped playing video games too for 5 years. During my break. I spent time reflecting on what it was that kept me going back… i realized that it wasn’t really the game that I enjoyed, but the connection it facilitated to other people. People that at some points can become closer than family. People that, again, i turned my back on when i felt like i wasn’t enough. 5. Talk to someone. Whether that be medical help, or talking with some of those people that you reconnect to. Or really anyone that you trust and can be honest with… I know life is hard and sometimes it’s easy to get overwhelmed… easy to want to escape, but if you’re like me then you’ve realized that you can’t hide from problems. I hope this is if nothing else encouraging. YOU are enough. You CAN do it. You’re NOT alone. Don’t QUIT trying.

Rainn, you have a gift at stripping the artifice from people through presence alone and it's so loving and beautiful to witness. As much as comedians may feel that what they offer is trivial, it isn't and the love people have for people like Bobby and Rick (mentioning because it really was surprising and delighting to see him present without the bits similarly to Bobby here) and the genuine wish for their well being and capacity to receive real approbation is true for a lot of people. I'll spend my life attempting to be this gentle and authentic in my conversations with others and take some notes from your way.
