Those dead assassins in the trunk were trained South American Special Forces and were more than likely trained to withstand interrogation tactics. Reacher already knew they were highly skilled fighters and figured it wouldn't be worth the time and effort to MAYBE get the truth from them instead of disinformation. And I think she asked Reacher about Baghdad because she wanted to know if he was a killer who enjoyed it, or a killer who did it when he had to. A moral question rather than a legal concern. She saw the pretzel bodies in the trunk and wondered if Reacher did that because he needed to or just to be twisted. She found out he was a good, but brutal man and she was cool with that.

We loved it when you were shocked at the shower scene. You were out of sorts, but then my wife said to me...but she wanted them to go at it at the hotel after the bar? They definitly have chemistry together...and Reacher IS a very closed off individual, but yeah...balsy move on her part (after you told us your fail moment possibility). Loved Reacher's response, and how she took it. Reacher is a matter of fact type person. In the books, that got him in trouble with his superiors all the time. Loved the Tetris comment by Roscoe...that always gives us a laugh. Thanks for you reaction. You allow us to relive it, again. Much appreciated. Cannot wait for your next ones...as the series progresses.

Great reaction. You mentioned that the train station exchange fail seemed out of character for Reacher. I would say that he simply missed it, like when his guard was down outside the hotel. Him and Roscoe didn't expect an attack. During your reaction when they were on their way meet her, Reacher attempted to analyze the situation and you mentioned that you wanted him to be really wrong at least once around the 14:30 mark. He got it really wrong. He didn't account that if they got beat to the hotel earlier there is a possibility of being beat to the station as well. He missed it. They weren't in the clear and Molly Beth died. Again, great reaction!

If anything, the "intimate" scene between Reacher and Roscoe was postponed. In the book, it happens when they came back from the roadhouse and they stayed at the motel because the road was closed. But I get what you mean, they have to condense the story to make room for what's important.

I say this knowing that you're probably already finished watching the series, but I think you would benefit from reading "The Killing Ground". It would make Reacher's occasional judgement lapses a little more clear given his mental state at certain points in the story, like in Molly Beth's death for example. Reacher knew he fucked up and helped to crystallize, even further, his "mission". Plus, the Reacher books, in general, are phenomenal.
@mgass1354

Ok, so, the whole emotional dumpster fire and being closed off... Reacher grew up in a military family, moving every few years. That means making new friends, getting attached, then losing those attachments... repeatedly... as a child. You learn to not make attachments. You don't make friends because you know you'll just move. You don't get close to animal pets because you lose them as many military families have to leave pets behind in a move. You close that emotional part off because you got hurt... repeatedly. Yes, this pertains to your family and siblings, as well, even more so if your family dynamic is abusive. So you grow up into an emotional dumpster fire. The series shows this in the dialogue. Reacher and Joe weren't "close" and didn't keep in touch much.

@@cinemawithsteph Ahhhh... well, um... this wasn't a "romance", per se, as much as a big, muscular, hot looking guy that tripped Roscoe's, "I'd strap that on for a night". And, that's what happened. You get the hints of it from the scene where he is in the dressing room and she sees him shirtless with her look, the bar scene when they were dancing, etc. Remember, first time they were in a motel room, he slept on the floor even though she was running around in underwear. So, in the hotel, when he says he's going to shower, she saw her chance and took it.

The scene where Roscoe got all huffy and slapped Reacher was my least favorite in the whole series. I’m afraid a lot shows these days feel like there has to be a tiny “badass” female character who can do anything a man can do and can take care of herself, etc. I realize the whole “helpless damsel in distress” is outdated but this scenario here goes too far the other way. I mean, we’ve already established that Reacher is a defender and protector by nature. Let the man be who he is without getting all offended. Besides, it worked out better that she was free to show up and back him up in the end, so what’s the problem? I agree with you. That slap and tongue-lashing was unfair, or unjustified is another way to say it.
@Befree898

First thing you need to know that Reacher is a series action thrillers novels..This season covers one book, "Tripwire". They are being very truthful to the book..the scene in the shower is on the book..the phrase: this no change anything is in the book. He is definitely going to solve the case. The relationship between Roscoe and Reacher has no future..Reacher is a drifter who is moving and traveling all the time. Never stay on any places more than a few days. Roscoe will get a big promotion at the end of the case, so she will stay there forever.. Reacher will be leaving town forever. He never comes back to the same place. Next town, another case, another girl, or maybe not, depending on which book they decide to portray on next season.
